10 Alternative Ways The U.S. Government Can Costs Without Destroying Our Planet

We should focus on ways to protect the environment.

Can we agree that the environment is kind of important? Can we just agree on that little detail?

Well the goal of this new administration is to lower the national debt. And one of the genius ways the devised was to reduce the Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) Budget by 31%. That's nearly a third of the budget for a department that ensures the safety of the future of this planet.

Since the EPA is a crucial part of the government that plays a role that this administration clearly does not understand, I've outlined some ways that the government could cut costs in other places so that we can protect the place we call home instead of denying the fact that we are destroying it.

1. Reduce military spending

We probably do not need to increase spending in this department. If you're expecting an attack, it's probably mother nature coming to berate us for neglecting her.

2. Not build a wall

Spending federal money on a wall that does nothing except further divide Americans is not the best way to be using our funds.

3. Ban Plastic Water Bottles

Instead of those expensive plastic water bottles that go to waste, let's make a law saying that the only way people can get water is collecting it during a rainstorm. With the drought problems we've been having, that will also decrease over-consumption.

4. Invest in Drone Bee Technology

Just like the last episode of Black Mirror, create mini bee drones that sustain the environment. Everything worked out for the best in that instance anyways.

5. Eliminate the Department of Housing and Urban Development

We already have houses. We don't need any more.

6. Reduce the Supreme Court to 3 Judges

The money you save by not having to pay all of those salaries can go a long way.

7. Make everyone turn off all their lights at 9:00 PM Eastern Standard Time.

They can turn them back on in the morning when they wake up. But, having them on at night is a crime punishable by public execution.

8. Turn all National Parks into Casinos

You might ask, "But, Rob, wouldn't this hurt the environment more because you are destroying forests and driving animals out of their homes into areas where they cannot live?" Yes.

9. Print More Money

This should've been solution number one. I don't know why we haven't done this already. Everyone! Go home and start printing copies of Benjamin Franklin on your Lexmarx Printers.

10. Invest in Children

Instead of cutting funds to Public Schools and taking away programs that allow children to thrive and grow, maybe we should just invest in their future. Maybe we should do everything we can to ensure children have the right tools to learn and move on to higher education. Then, they can study and do research into ways to save the environment and ensure the safety of this planet.

These are all valid options. Comment with your favorite alternative way to save money. I still think Drone-bees are the ticket.

It's officially December. There is less than a month of 2024, and I still feel like yesterday was summer. Now comes the merriest time of the year, the Christmas season.

Everyone has been waiting for this time of year since mid-October (which is way too early, in my opinion) or before. It's a time of love, family, memory-making, and gift-giving. A lot of times when I ask friends and family what they want, I get a lot of "I don't know" or "I don't care."

I was sitting at my cubicle, now that I am an adult, looking at the rain pouring down on the windowsill, bumming on life, wishing for the rain to just stop for a full day.

There are moments where we count down the hours until work is over and how many more days till the weekend, and this many weeks until something exciting. Or something like that? Well, I was bumming because my next day off from work is not until Memorial Day weekend, which is not until the end of May. And since this is my first year out of college being a “real person,” I am totally missing the winter, spring and summer breaks. I am sure all of us have felt this way even if just for a hot minute…
