Counting couch Ssong from team Immortals (RIP), five different teams are represented in the NA All-Starts team.
What is really interesting is that 4 of the 6 will be with Team Solo Mid next season.
With Hauntzer, Mikeyeung, Bjergsen and coach Ssong on TSM, All-Starts is nothing but a big scrimmage for them to start practices a team (minus their bot lane of course).
But the question prior to all this is if this team is truly representative of NA's talent.
And I would argue that more or less it is. Except for one role.
Hauntzer: 34.8% of the vote for the role
Mikeyeung: 29.3% of the vote for the role
Bjergsen: 49.5% of the vote for the role
Sneaky: 52.6% of the vote for the role
Aphroomoo: 35.5% of the vote for the role
I think they choose bot lane pretty spot on, both Sneaky and Aphroomoo have shown their skill. I am wary of the Aphroomoo choice though, I think while he is very talented he truly didn't play his best this past season or two. I think Olleh is the better choice and am surprised he wasn't chosen. But Sneaky got it for sure, for me it's either him or Cody Sun.
Mid lane...I mean its the BjergerKING. Its obvious he is still the kind of midlane in NA. No one else truly compares other than Jensen.
For jungle, I am unsure if Mike was chosen for his hype and meme or his skill. I think its a good mix of both, but in NA he was truly a master in the jungle considering Phoenix 1's rough season. If not him, I would think Xsmithie deserved the title. The way he led Immortals with Ssong was just fantastic.
Going off that I think Ssong was the obvious choice for coach. His work with Immortals was something of a miracle and he deserves an absurd amount of praise.
Now...top lane...yikes
I think Hauntzer has skill for sure. He may be the best top laner in NA, but something tells me he doesn't deserve this title. After looking through the top laners though, its obvious that NA doesn't have much talent top lane. I think the title could have only gone to either Hauntzer, Ssumday, or Flame. I would have chosen Flame, but all three of them are so close I am unsure if it matters.
I think this team will easily break out group stages, rather I hope so. For TSM's sake as least they need to show up here.
Also, I am excited for Sneakygod to win the 1v1 tournament against Faker
