For all you college students out there, you know what I mean when I say home doesn't feel like home anymore. I've really felt that statement more than ever coming home from college this summer.
When I come home, I enjoy seeing my family, sleeping in my bed, showering in my own shower, and having my own space. But it just feels different when you come home once you're in college doesn't it?
When I come home for a weekend during the school year, I enjoy my time away from school.
But when I make that drive back on Sunday's, I feel like I'm driving back to my new home. I guess you know you've chosen the right school when you've got this problem.
I don't know why I've really felt like home doesn't feel like home this summer more than ever. Maybe it's because your high school friends are home too and your summers together aren't the same as they used to be.
Maybe it's because you have far more responsibilities during your summers as a college student rather than your summers as a high schooler and you're just used to having those responsibilities in the town of your college.
Maybe it's because you just don't feel as young as you once did. You know where your life is headed and where you want to go. Maybe that isn't your home town anymore. Maybe it is.
You're finding your new home in this world. And that comes along with the feeling of home doesn't feel like home anymore.
