If Dogs Went To College

What would they study?

If Dogs Went To College

If you're like me, you often tell your dog what you're studying and the logistics of the current chapter you're reviewing. But do you ever wonder what it would be like if our dogs could be like the ones in "Cats vs. Dogs?" They were so smart (and literally doggy CIA agents). It would be so cool if cats and dogs could talk back to us!

Anyway, back to the dogs. Have you ever wondered what kind of classes your dog would take if they went to college? Would they be typical prerequisite classes like the kind college kids are used to, or would they be dog-related? Here are some classes that I believe a dog would take if they could talk and go to college just like us.

HIST 298: A Bit of Ruff History

A French Poodle as our Napoleon Bonaparte. Just imagine all of our historical figures in a dog's body. Imagine Obama as a Pug, or Donald Trump as a Golden Retriever with a toupee. I'm sure our history would be similar to their own.

LBRL 344: Cats -- Friend or Foe?

We often see dogs either chasing or loving on a cat, so this class helps dogs understand if the cat is either their friend or foe in life. This would be a conflicting class for dogs that love having cats as a friend, because they would get defensive of their little feline friend if there was a heated discussion in class.

BIO 209: Canine Anatomy and Physiology

Almost like human anatomy class, but this time, the dogs learn about their anatomy and physiology. Just think about it: they would learn how their bodies reproduce and how their skeleton works with the muscles. Honestly, I bet their anatomy class would be so interesting to most humans!

ENG 114: The Woof Language

This would be like public speaking for dogs: the language of how a dog can communicate effectively and up to political standards. Cause, you know, they would have alphas in charge of each department at their Wooffversity.

HUM 679: The Behavior of Humans

The human is more complicated than one thinks. In order for a canine to learn the ways of the human, this class is necessary. On the other hand, what if one of the dogs takes the wrong way and uses it to annihilate the humans that care about them?! It would be a doggy apocalypse.

LANG 233: The Art of Meow

This would be a great class for your dog if they wanted to be a secret agent. They would need this class in order to master the art of speaking cat. That way they can infiltrate the bad kitties in the government.

In the end, it would be so cool if dogs could go to college. I would kill to have an intellectual conversation with my dog and hear her actually talk back to me. In reality, the only schools our dogs go to are obedience school, training school, and maybe trick-training school.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
