Think your sibling can be difficult to deal with sometimes? Try living with one that is headed to an Ivy League school next fall. If you're unsure where they might be headed here are 11 signs that will tell you the answer.
1. You have your own personal tutor.
Math, science, Spanish, or English, it really doesn't matter what subject you're struggling with because they will always know the answer to any sort of daunting question you may be presented with.
2. They came home from the ACT and SAT saying "that was easy."
Wait, did I just hear you right? You said that was easy? I studied for months, did practice exams, went to tutoring, almost had a mental breakdown after the first ten questions, and you said it was easy?!?
3. They correct every little mistake.
Texting them or even just having a casual conversation with them can turn into a grammar lesson at any given time.
4. Their personal achievement list reads like a book.
Honors/AP student, straight A's, more scholarships than you can count... etc. There's always some new thing they have accomplished, so you can never really keep track of all of them.
5. You take any compliment from them as something to be cherished forever.
They don't come often, but when they do you feel like you can take over the world.
6. Their GPA is better looking than most people.
Let's be honest here; a 4.0 is pretty attractive.
7. Your best academic semester will never be that good.
You grind through class, lose many hours of sleep studying, and stress over plenty of exams. You feel accomplished with the semester and are content with your overall grades...until you go home and are met with "that's it?" from your overachieving sibling.
8. Their general comments leave you puzzled.
"Did you know your brain can talk to you because the neurons give off electrical charges that you can listen to and basically translate like a machine?"
Sure, I'll take your word for it.
9. You know who to go to for money when you're having a midlife crisis.
Let's see here... Smart in high school leads to a prestigious university, which leads to a solid job. I can do that kind of math. Can a borrow a few hundred bucks?
10. You're content with being second best.
You have already conceded to the fact that you'll never be the smartest child, and that being the second smartest really isn't that bad considering what you're going up against.
11. You always have someone to brag about.
They may drive you crazy with their witty comments and their intelligence, but at the end of the day you're going to be proud of everything they've done and you'll make sure that everyone else knows how proud you are of them.
