20 Questions You'll Most Likely Hear in a Sorority
The Wonderful World of Delta Delta Delta

Imagine sorority recruitment. You meet so many polished women with great posture, unwavering eye contact and a confident attitude. These women seem like they have everything together and you almost don't believe that they're real humans.

However, behind the perfect self they recruit with, these ladies are indeed very real. During my time in college, I've noticed that living in my chapter house is one of the most rewarding and entertaining experiences I've had. These women you remember from recruitment are actually just like you. Before you know it, you're all using similar lingo and asking each other the same questions every day. Over time, you start to catch on to the quirky things that you hear most often.

This is a firsthand account of the unique, frequently asked questions you will hear in an all-female mansion.

  1. “Is someone using my shower stall right now?”
    Some places are just sacred.
  2. "Why won't the glitter come out of the carpet?"
No matter what you do, glitter as a result of last-minute crafting is here to stay as long as you are. On the bright side, you'll always see a sparkle somewhere on the floor, which basically means it's clean, right?
  3. "WHO IS SNORING?!"
The perks of the sleeping porch are endless. I personally love the porch, but when the girls around you unconsciously make noises you thought only bears could, you start to reevaluate your life decisions.
  4. "Can I borrow this?"
You can ask anyone this question and the answer is almost always yes. Whether it's a shirt, jacket, or even a bra, anything goes.
  5. "Is that mine?"
This happens when you forget to ask the previous question and take it anyways. Oops.
  6. "What's for dinner?"
Depending on the day, the answer is usually always a variation of chicken.
  7. "What's going on tonight?"
You can expect this question any day of the week.
  8. "Who's in my daybed?"
Walking into your room in the morning and not knowing which friend claimed the bed as their own the night before is always a fun conversation starter. This is usually the person who asked the previous question.
  9. "Wanna go to the bars?"
Fact: you will become best friends with everyone in your house who is 21.
  10. "Did you hear what happened last night?"
Yes, I did. We all did.
  11. "Who used my makeup?!"
Pray it wasn't your Naked palette.
  12. "Do you want to go McDonald's or Taco Bell?"
    Is that a real question?
  13. "Is your Internet working?"
No. It's actually reassuring to know it's not just yours, either!
  14. "Is anyone going to Walmart?"
    Yes, but they just left...
  15. "What time do you have standards?"
This is usually what you ask your partner in crime.
  16. "What are you wearing tonight?"
Followed with: "Can I look in your closet?" And yes, you can!
  17. "What have you heard about him?"
Always, ALWAYS trust your sisters on their answer.
  18. "Are you walking to class right now?"
You'll never have to walk alone again!
  19. "Where were you last night?"
The answer will probably not surprise you, but you ask anyways.
  20. "Can you take a picture of us?"
*Cue candid pose or sorority squat*

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
