Congratulations on your initiation into Chi Omega. You may not realize it now, but a truly amazing opportunity awaits you. As you've grown closer with your new pledge class, you may still feel nervous, excited, awkward, content or uncomfortable.
Above all else, however, I hope you feel sure. Sure of yourself and of your decision to join Chi Omega.
Although outsiders may disagree, Chi Omega is more than a drinking club or a community service organization. It's a bond of sisterhood that unites friends from all backgrounds and experiences. In times of stress, joy, confusion, heartache, and bliss, your Chi Omega sisters will never leave you.
As I read the Chi Omega Symphony, I envision you embodying each stanza. The line that most resonates with me is “to act sincerely" because of its simplistic yet essential nature in our lives.
I encourage you to embody the Chi Omega Symphony each day, but to especially remember to act sincerely in all you do. Act sincerely in your daily interactions around campus. Act sincerely in your class work. Act sincerely towards loved ones and towards your worst enemies. Being sincere in all that we do cultivates a spirit of appreciation and affection.
Little, you mean the world to me. I am beyond proud of you to have made it this far in your journey here at Wake Forest. I knew from the moment I met you that we would be lifelong friends, Chi Omega sisters, and Big and Little. There is no one I would rather have replace me once I graduate.
Never lose your confidence and strong will. And never, ever, ever stop killing it on the dance floor at our favorite fraternities.
I love you, Little One. Cheers to you,
Your Big
