There are an infinite amount of reasons to be happy every single day. No matter the hardships and battles one is facing, the stress of our everyday lives, or maybe you just woke up on the wrong side of the bed one day, there will forever be at least one reason to crack a smile and simply be happy we are alive. Life is beautiful and we must appreciate everyday we have on this earth, even on those absolutely rotten days. So, I compiled a list of just a few of the many things in life that give me a reason to be happy today, please reference this anytime you need a pick-me-up.


1. Best friends

2. The color purple

3. The cold side of a pillow

4. Extravagant Christmas decorations

5. Candles

6. Heart Sunglasses

7. “The Office”

8. Waking up and realizing you have hours left to sleep before you actually have to get up

9. Genuine compliments

10. Laughing so hard your stomach hurts

14. More specifically, golden retriever puppies

15. When a professor cancels class

17. When the weather first starts to warm up for spring

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots.
