10 "Must Visits" For Your 20's

Your 20's are your selfish years, so take advantage of that and travel to as many places as you possibly can. Listed below are the top 10 places to visit in your 20's, in my opinion…

Barcelona, Spain - Not only is Spain an awesome place to travel to because of its differing culture from ours, but Barcelona is especially amazing. Not only is Spain's nightlife perfect for someone in their 20's, but Barcelona's architecture makes it another amazing place to visit. With architecture that is so amazingly different from anywhere else in the world, Barcelona offers you a chance to look at architecture in more of an artistic and creative way.

Munich, Germany - Especially during Oktoberfest. Oktoberfest in Munich offers someone in their 20's a chance to try new things, with beers being the main concern. Oktoberfest is a once in a lifetime experience that allows you to try new things, meet new people, and maybe even dance on tables where it's socially acceptable…. and I don't mean “socially acceptable" like dancing on a table in Whiskey or Bourbon downtown.

India - India offers tourists a chance to immerse themselves in a whole new culture. India offers you a wide variety of ancient and historical buildings to go see, like the Taj Mahal, along with cuisine that puts Indian food in America to shame. If you ever get to go to India, make sure you go during the days of the Holi Festival. This Hindu religious festival makes color runs look like nothing. From music and dancing in the streets to throwing color powder on everyone, this festival gives you a new perspective on love and color.

Rio de Janeiro, Brazil - Not only is Rio home to some of the world's most well known nude beaches, but it is also the home of Carnival. While most people in their 20s want to make a trip to New Orleans for Mardi Gras, Carnival takes Mardi Gras to a whole new level. Traveling to a city that is overlooked by a very famous man with landscape that is unbelievable will truly change your outlook on what cities should look like. Oh, and don't forget to catch a soccer game while you're there!

Interlaken, Switzerland - If you think skiing in Colorado is an unforgettable experience, just try to make it out to the Swiss Alps at least once and you'll soon realize that Colorado doesn't have anything on Switzerland. With Interlaken nestled between two lakes, it offers many different landscapes and climates that are sure to take your breath away.

Florence, Italy - If you're a pasta and wine lover, then Florence is the place for you. With an array of things to see from gallerias that show Michelangelo's work, to the Ponte Vecchio bridge, to the shops of Piazza Santo Spirito, Florence, Italy offers someone in their 20's a more mature trip. But while you're there, don't forget to go watch a soccer game in Stadio Artemio Franchi and enjoy a cold beer.

China - While the streets of China are super crowded, the Great Wall of China is something that one needs to see and experience for themselves. With the trip to China being so long, going while in your 20's is the best idea because you're body won't ache as bad as it would if you sat on this long flight when you were older. Experiencing history is important in your 20's because it allows you to see, experience, and learn more about history tat might just change your outlook on things later on in life.

Santorini, Greece - This white and blue seaside town offers people in their 20's a chance to enjoy history while immersing in the culturally “hip" nightlife. This hillside town offers great cuisine and great views.

New York City, New York - Its an oldie, but it's a goodie. Definitely travel here in your 20's even if you have already visited NYC. Visiting in your 20's allows you to experience underground bars and clubs as well as the busy streets above ground. Traveling here in your 20's also gives you the opportunity to experience Ground Zero and remember an important part in our nation's history.

Las Vegas, Nevada - So it wouldn't be a list for places to visit in your 20's if it didn't include Vegas. With all of the clubs and shows that Vegas has to offer, it is a place that someone in their 20's needs to experience. If you're wanting to go to clubs every night, though, be prepared to wait in some lines because the most happening clubs here have guest lists and long lines. If partying isn't you're thing, then go spend some money and maybe even make some money at any of the thousands of casinos here.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
