You know you're a dancer at heart, no matter the age, when you find the following facts to be true.

1.You always have a hair tie around your wrist.

2. You sleep in posé.

3. You always critique someone dancing, whether it be a video or a performance.

4. You choreograph in the shower, car, or even the grocery store.

5. You wear spandex and sports bras often.

6. You are always asked to show some kind of dance move or if you can do the splits.

7. You are the first to start dancing anywhere.

8. You realize you have said, “I can't, I have dance” more than you've told people your first name.

9. You remember choreography from years ago but can not remember what you did yesterday.

10. You always wonder, "Is my hip suppose to pop that loud?"

11. You have bruises on your knees, feet, and elbows that you will have the rest of your life, but are unsure what they are exactly from.

12. You are able to wear shorts out in public during cold weather because you are so used to leaving practice with them on.

13. You always fight with people that dance is a sport and that you are an athlete.

14. You have come to an understanding that the left side is always going to be weaker than the right side.

15. You know that after 8 comes 1.

16. You are constantly finding bobby pins.

17. You use all of your old costumes for Halloween.

18. You are too scared to talk in front of class but can dance in front of hundreds of people.

19. You try and tell people what you did at dance, but they don't know French.

20. You know that "frappe" isn't a drink, "fondu" isn't a type of food, and a "frog" isn't an animal.

21. You have convinced yourself that not eating the day of a performance will make you look skinnier.

22. You reply when someone says, “No one texts faster than a pissed off girl" with, "Correction. No one texts faster than a dancer on water break."

23. Your ballet buns always looked more like a messy bun.

24. You have been judged for wearing stage makeup out in public.

25. You have larger leg muscles then some of the guys at school.

26. Glitter. Sequins. Fringe.

27. You learned how to put on fake eyelashes at a young age.

28. You know that when a teacher says "one more time" it could actually mean one more time, or 10 more times.

29. You watch Dance Moms and get offended about how staged and predictable they are.

30. You know there will always be a handful of songs people will dance to each year.

31. You know "and" is a number too.

32. You know how to change outfits unusually fast.

33. And you know that no matter what, dance will never leave you.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is.
