20 Reasons Why Fall is the Greatest Time of the Year

I don’t think anyone can deny that Fall is the greatest time of the year. The temperature drops to a comfortable chill, the fashion is amazing, the hot apple cider smell fills the living room and there is, of course, pumpkin carving! Can’t forget about the Halloween movie specials on ABC family! It is just a truly wonderful time of year and also happens to be the prettiest. The trees change color, the scenery is breathtaking and let’s be honest, who isn’t excited for this 90-degree weather to go away...

Here are 20 reasons why fall is the best time of the year:

1.Pumpkin Delicious Spice EVERYTHING – There is just something about a pumpkin spice latte on a chilly Fall day.

2. The Fashion – Scarves, high thick socks, boots, HOODIES (boyfriend's hoodies, too). Fall fashion is a wonderful thing.

3. Pumpkin Carving – One of the most fun things to do during fall...even if my pumpkin never turns out the way I wanted.

4. Apple Picking – Grab your friends and spend the day in the apple orchards. Smells and tastes ah-maz-ing.

5. The Cool Weather – Not too cold not too warm, just perfect. (And it is a good transition before the ridiculously cold hits us.)

6. "Hocus Pocus," "Halloweentown," "American Horror Story" and all our other favorites hit the TV – It's so relaxing to come home after a long day and watch Halloween classics with the roommates.

7. CANDLES – I am such a candle lover but especially in the fall. You can’t go wrong when your entire room smells like warm pumpkin pie or spiced apple.

8. Football Games – Whether they are high school, college or professional, who doesn’t love a good football game?

9. Hot Chocolate and Apple Cider – Appropriate all hours of the day and warms you up.

10. HALLOWEEN! – You can be anything or anyone you want for the night and dressing up is so much fun no matter what age you are.

11. Cuddle Weather – Because we all need to be hugged and held sometimes.

12. Eastern State Penitentiary – SO fun and the perfect amount of scare! Seriously, go. You will never scream and laugh harder.

13. Campfires and S’mores – Festive, fun and so delicious.

14. Corn Mazes – We all love a little thrill sometimes!

15. Playing In The Leaves – Because you are never too old to jump in a huge pile.

16. Thanksgiving! – Food, family, love, laughter. What’s better than that?

17. The Crisp Fall Air - It is so distinct and just makes you all types of happy inside.

18. The Beauty – Everything is so orange and yellow and beautiful and you just wish the trees looked this way all year round.

19. Haunted Houses and Scary Movies – Perfect excuse to cuddle up and get close with your person.

20. Change – Fall represents change and change is good, even if it's hard sometimes.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
