10 Reasons Why Fall Is My Favorite Season

Fall is by far my favorite season! Yes, I can admit that I am a bit basic and when the season changes to the fall, I am one of the happiest girls around. I get so excited for the fashion, the leaves, and the Starbucks drink associated with this time of year. Here are 10 things that I most love about the fall.

  1. Pumpkin: From pumpkin spiced lattes to pumpkin butter to the good ol’ pumpkin cupcake candle from Bath and Body Works that is currently burning in my room, I love it all. Fall time is the best excuse to indulge in all things pumpkin and honestly, during this time of year, you'll never find me without something pumpkin.
  2. Seasonal Drinks: Again with the theme of pumpkin, one of my favorite things to do during the fall is to head to the closest Starbucks and binge drink venti pumpkin spice lattes and salted caramel mochas.
  3. Fall Scented Products: One thing that I truly love about the fall is the crisp fall air. I always find an excuse to bring the fall atmosphere into my room. I shop at places like Bath and Body Works to buy products that can bring the same comfy fall spirit into my own home.
  4. Fall Fashion: If I could live in riding boots, I would, but since I can’t, the fall time is the best excuse to live out this fantasy. But in general, fall fashion is probably my favorite overall. You get the versatility of wearing sweaters, over-sized cardigans, and boots while still having the option to throw on a dress or a really nice romper.
  5. Fashion Week: Going along with fashion, I am a huge fan of New York Fashion Week and even though it’s technically not in the fall, it’s close enough. Whenever I sit down and read articles about fashion week or watch clips, I am overjoyed with anticipation for the fall season. (I know I’m a little obsessed)
  6. Dark Nails and Lip Products: Seriously, probably one of the best things about the fall is being able to sport dark nails and lips. Although I do wear both throughout the year, doing so just seems right when it’s the fall time.
  7. The Leaves: I love the changing of the season. And when the leaves turn to beautiful rustic colors, great Instagram pictures come as a result!
  8. Bonfires: Bonfires are the absolute best, especially in the fall. I absolutely love sitting by a fire surrounded by friends and a fall breeze.
  9. Football: I am a football fan and it’s a tradition in my family to watch the game together every Sunday. In my head, football is synonymous with fall, so for me, if you’re not watching the game during this time of year, you’re not doing it right! (Go Giants!)
  10. Thanksgiving: I am a huge foodie so any chance that I get to sit around a table with a ton of food options in my face, I’m basically in heaven. Thanksgiving is also really great because my family always gets together. Plus, it's a nice transition into the Christmas season!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
