There is nothing more boring than sitting on the couch trying to figure out what to do or where to eat. There are so many hidden inexpensive spots in the Tampa Bay area to explore. The next time you don't know what to do on a Saturday afternoon, check out one of these places!


1. Any Major Sports Team

Tampa Bay has the Rays baseball team, the Lightning hockey team, the Rowdies soccer team and the Buccaneers football team for professional sports.

2. Farmer's Market

Every weekend there is a farmer's market in downtown St. Pete and in Hyde Park. There are also many other farmer's markets around the Tampa Bay area that are easy to come across as well.

3. Curtis Hixon Park

Most weekends there are events going on at Curtis Hixon Park. Whether it be a grilled cheese festival, a music festival, or the indoor ice skating, there is always something going on at Curtis Hixon.

4. Dessert at Datz

Have you ever had a donut ice cream cone? Datz recently offered the amazing donut ice cream cones. Check out this little spot for some of the most delicious desserts in Tampa.

5. John's Pass Boardwalk

John's Pass gives you the perfect feel of Florida living. It is located right on the water and across from Madeira Beach. There are many restaurants, shops, and tours.

6. Top Golf

Have you ever been to a high-tech driving range? This place is perfect for any occasion. Grab a few friends and head to Brandon to experience the fun. Wait staff come right to your personal driving range area and serve you while you drive some balls out to the field.

7. CineBistro

This is nothing like your typical movie theatre. Enjoy a fabulous night eating your favorite meal while watching you favorite new movie release. This is a win, win.

8. The Sail on the River Walk

Go for a stroll along the newly updated River Walk and stop for a drink or dinner at the Sail. The Sail is a small little bar that overlooks a beautiful view of the Hillsborough River.

9. Dolphin Cruise

If you haven't had the chance to see dolphins in Tampa yet, here is your chance. Groupon always has great deals on dolphin tours right out of Clearwater.

10. Congo River Mini Golf

Take on this mini golf course while completing a scavenger hunt. This golf course also has live alligators that are open to holding if you dare.

Ybor is known for its unique atmosphere. Check out new restaurants like Hamburger Mary's, Acropolis, the Columbia Restaurant, and many more!

12. Fort De Soto

Explore the Fort De Soto park in St. Pete. There are beaches, islands, places to kayak, hiking and have a picnic. It is a perfect place to relax and enjoy some time in the sun.

13. Paddle Boarding

Tampa Bay area has many opportunities to try paddle boarding. This is something fun to try out on the water if you're looking for something easy going.

14. Upper Tampa Bay Park

This park is beautiful for adventuring into. There are many hiking trails, spots to kayak, and places to fish. It is a great place to relax and enjoy yourself.

Have you ever heard of water bikes? It's actually pretty easy to get the hang of. You can rent water bikes and explore the Hillsborough River.


16. The Escape Room

Located in Downtown Tampa is the Escape Room. This is a franchise that leaves guest in a room and they have an hour to figure out puzzles, locks, and pictures trying to escape.

17. Bike Bayshore

Tampa is lucky to have a beautiful walkway along the bay that is four and a half miles long. This is a perfect spot to walk, bike, rollerblade, or take the dog. You may even get the opportunity to see dolphins or other sea animals.
