7 Ways to Score "Hamilton" Tickets

Let's face it, we all want to be "In The Room Where It Happens"

"There's a million things I haven't done..." In other words, successfully purchasing tickets to see Broadway's "Hamilton." Unfortunately, my shot has been thrown away multiple times as we attempt to see Lin Manuel Miranda's brilliance on stage.

1. Make a wish at 11:11 p.m. every night for at least one year.

This is a vital step. Every day at 11:11 a.m. and 11:11 p.m. you must close your eyes really tight. You then must whisper three times in your head, "I wish to see "Hamilton." In Lin We Trust, WERK". Don't mess it up.

2. Harass your family and friends.

Someone is bound to have connections, right? No? OK, well then someone has got to have a lot of money just laying around that they can buy you tickets. No? Nobody? Write a letter to a few politicians? A vote in exchange for Hamilton tickets, sounds good to me. OK. Then try this: "Mom, I know that it is super expensive and can basically be part of my college tuition but it's Broadway." (Sigh.)

3. Enter the lottery. Constantly.

Chances are, you are "young, scrappy and hungry" but you better not throw away your shot. Fill out the lottery online. Spell out your name in the EXACT same rhythm that Hamilton does in "My Shot." It will give you edge and maybe someone will sense that you are deserving. Spend the day in the City and enter in person if you're really feeling lucky. Either way, know that you are not alone. I support you whether you Lin or loose. If this successfully works for you, you must be King George III because all I have to say is, "Awesome! Wow!"

4. Sell your soul.

I don't know what else to say. Find some way to work and make money that maybe against your moral standards. Just do whatever it is you need to do to obtain the tickets. Don't think twice. Just be part of the narrative. Maybe you just constantly need to werk, werk.

5. Find someone rich.

Don't ask questions. If they have money, date them or get married -- immediately. They may sit with you at the show if they buy the tickets, but who cares. You will get to see "Hamilton." You can let it be your first date or your last date before leaving them, whatever works for you. This is against everything that I stand for but it will get you in a seat.If you are a trust fund baby, treat someone else. Match with them on Tinder via only speaking in "Hamilton" quotes, or something. I don't think I need to say more.

6. Buck up.

Hamilton didn't spend all of his time establishing the National Bank for nothing. Put it on your credit card. Take out a loan if you must. Just make sure that you get to be in the room where it happens. That's all that matters right?

7. Be grateful.

Let's be thankful for Lin Manuel Miranda. I can spend hours just listening to him talk. I believe that Lin bought forward a completely new era to theater and I am grateful to be experiencing it at the age that I am. I am also amazed to see the amount of people who are learning about our history from listening to your music. There is no doubt in my mind that I will be telling my children or grandchildren in the future about everything Lin has accomplished and done for the theater community. Lin, you have certainly blown me away. Thank you for allowing me to think I can rap in my car on the way to school, writing with such pride and passion and sharing your gift with the world. I will see you Sept. 22 from the last row of the balcony, but it will be one of the best days of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
