15 Signs You Grew Up In South Carolina

Being from the Palmetto State, you notice that things are a bit different around here. Here are 15 things you'll definitely recognize if you were blessed enough to grow up in the Palmetto State. Pledge your love, loyalty, and faith.

1. Everyone is obsessed with the palmetto tree and moon from the state flag. People put it on everything

2. There are more churches than you can count.

3. The humidity is ridiculously intense.

4. But not as intense as the rivalry between Clemson and University of South Carolina.

5. USC does not mean University of Southern California. And Carolina does not mean University of North Carolina.

6. If you wear a shirt that says "FU" on it, no one will question you.

7. We're in the national news for the most bizarre stories. Most recently, the clowns originated in Greenville.

8. You can't go outside without bug spray.

9. Summerville was the birthplace of sweet tea, so we live off of it.

10. We're also the birthplace of some pretty weird foods, like mustard based BBQ.

11. If one flake of snow falls from the sky, everyone loses their minds. And school is canceled.

12. Pepsi is more common than Coke, since it originated in the Carolinas.

13. Fireworks are legal here, so there are lots of firework stores surrounding the border. You're welcome, North Carolina and Georgia.

14. You know that "bless your heart" is anything but a compliment.

15. And everyone says "y'all."
