Thank You Letter to My Best Friends

It is funny how when we think of our soul mates we tend to think of a guy, or a knight in shining armor who will come sweep us off our feet and make our hearts feel whole. However, we tend to forget about the ones who are there for us in the good, the bad, and the ugly. The ones who pick us up when we fall flat on our face after getting our hearts broken by some jerk who in their words, “wasn’t worth your time 'cause they didn’t know what they had,” the ones who encourage us to be the best version of ourselves, act like complete fools with us in public, and the ones who know you better than you know yourself.

I honestly don’t know where I would be in this world if it wasn’t for my best friends who have always had my back, supported me, wiped my tears, beat up the boys who broke my heart, had my back when I couldn't back up my own mouth, will forever be my number one supporters, and go-to girls as well as my partners in crime. Just in case I never said thank you before for all the little things, the big things, and everything in between -- here's to you and all that you do for me and all that you mean to me!

Thank you for answering the phone in the middle of the night when I am in tears over a boy, stress, or life. Thank you for always having my back whether it be standing up for me when someone tries to put me down or when I could not stick up for myself; you did because you weren’t afraid of anyone, especially if they messed with me. Thank you for supporting me in my dreams and believing in me even when I didn’t believe in myself. Thank you for putting me in my place when I could not see I was in the wrong. Thank you for laughing with me and at me. Thank you for giving me advice from miles away and telling me exactly what I need to hear even when I did not want to listen. Thank you for never drifting away. Thank you for inspiring me to pursue my own goals and dreams as you achieve yours. Thank you for being my rock, and for keeping me sane even when I feel like I might break down. Thank you for dealing with my lack of punctuality and my need to always run fashionably late. Thank you for knowing me better than I know myself and lastly, thank you for being the best thing a girl can find: a true blue best friend.

As Carrie Bradshaw once said, “Maybe our girlfriends are our soulmates and guys are just people to have fun with!” Without you, I would not be the same person I am today, so thank you for being my best friend, my other half, and my true soulmate.

XOXO forever,

Your Best Friend Forever

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
