Before I Die...
Start writing a post

Recently, I decided that I would like to make a list of fiveĀ things I want to do before I die. I figured they should be crazy things, not really career related, that I have always dreamt about, but never considered actually doing.

1. Swim with dolphins. These creatures are so incredible, and I imagine it would be an amazing experience to swim among them. Secretly, I would want to capture one, and take it home as a pet.

2.Ā Travel toĀ Europe.Ā Wouldnā€™t it just be crazy to take a month out of your life, and travel to EuropeĀ and all of its beautiful countries? I would love to see all of the culture within the continent, and take a month to explore and enjoy myself.Ā

3. Write a novel.Ā I know I said nothing career related, but I feel that this one isnā€™t. It would be purely for myself, to get thoughts in my head onto paper, and possibly sell it for others to enjoy and relate to. I love reading, and I feel this would be a good way to give back to the writing community!Ā

4. Be inĀ Times Square for New Yearā€™s Eve.Ā Wouldnā€™t that just be something else? Taking a friend,Ā boyfriend orĀ family member to go to New York and beĀ right in the middle of the chaos! That would be an experience of a lifetime that you have to do at least once. Ā

5. See the northern lights.Ā Weā€™ve all seen so many pictures, and pictures do speak a thousand words, but seeing it in person would be worth so much more. I would love to see that kind of beauty right in front of me. Ā  Ā  Ā Ā

There are so many things in this world that we have yet to experience. We all get caught up in life'sĀ drama, and the things that we think really matter, really donā€™t. I decided to stop worrying about things out of my control, and live peacefully.Ā  We really owe it to ourselves! I want to start exploring all the world has to offerĀ because I know there is so much beyond what I think I know. I canā€™t wait for the adventures to come and I hope you all will join!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
