Spring break is almost upon us. While some people already have their flights booked, others are prepared to spend the spring break at home yearning to get out of the house. But even if you don't have a vacation already planned, there is still time to plan a quick getaway during spring break. Here is a list of some of the best destinations to hit on an East Coast road trip that are perfect for a short spring break road trip!
1. Cape May, New Jersey
In Cape May, you can take a tour of the beautiful streets to see the beautiful Victorian homes, stop at the Historic Cape May Lighthouse, or visit the various beaches the town has to offer. If you want to go shopping, The Mall offers tiny shops lined on a beautiful cobblestone street. If you have a sweet tooth, check out Laura’s Fudge Shop, where you’ll find old-fashioned salt water taffy and ice cream. Cape May is less than thirty minutes away from Wildwood, where you can have fun on the boardwalk and enjoy the beach.
2. Mystic, Connecticut
Do you love history? Then you will definitely enjoy Mystic. Mystic is one of the oldest shipbuilding and whaling ports in New England.Visit the Denison Pequotsepos Nature Center, dine at the legendary Mystic Pizza, stroll along the seaport, or drive a few miles north to one of Rhode Island’s beaches. You’ll also find many historic homes, the Mystic Seaport, Mystic Marinelife Aquarium, and Olde Mistick Village to visit during your time here.
