The week that college students dread is upon us, or almost here for the others. Yes, finals week is creeping up on students who thought it would just disappear. As scary as finals seem tough, it also means that summer is that much closer.
Sitting on the beach relaxing, not caring about school anymore. How amazing does that sound? Great right? Well, as amazing as it will be, there remains one thing left in the way of your dream vacation, yes, a ton of tests.
The crew of "The Office" have probably taken a ton of finals in their years and they can help you get through each stage that will surely hit you at one point or another.
1. First Things First, There Is No Way Around Finals
Yep, finals are happening, no matter how much you try to put them off, they don't disappear. But, there are ways to get around having an awful finals week. Doing some things and avoiding others on this list will help you out.
2. CRAM,CRAM,CRAM!
More than likely, you will be cramming a years or semester's worth of information into one all-nighter. You might even take one look at the notebook you were supposed to have notes in and realize it is nothing but doodles, this is fairly common. No worries, you just need to start gathering all the info you need to know and pour your life into getting it memorized.
3. Emotional Meltdowns are Normal!
There is a lot of pressure when it comes to finals. You might be borderline on getting a bad grade and you need to do really well on the final to clutch that better grade. You might be pressured by your parents to do well in school, they might even be helping you pay for school, so getting a good grade is in your best interest. All this stress can hit you at once and you might have a meltdown, just make sure it doesn't happen during the test.
4. Netflix or Study More? Well, I Haven't Seen Episode 3 Yet...
Studying can get boring and sometimes super frustrating, so taking a break isn't the end of the world, but make sure that break doesn't turn into watching a full season of your favorite show, a dance party, scrolling through your social media feeds for two hours, or anything else counterproductive.
5. When the Heck Did it Hit Midnight....
6. BEWARE!
If you get distracted by Netflix or your social media, you could look back up at the clock and it could be way later than you want it to be. This means that you will need to kick it into high gear to study all of the material needed for the final. Or, if you are like many other college students, you will pull an all-nighter.
7. I Got This!
Hopefully, you can study long enough that you learn all that info in one night. The goal is to feel confident going into the final, this doesn't always happen, but it should still be your main focus.
8. The Struggle to Keep My Eyes Open Is So Real Right Now.....
There is no doubt you will be tired in the morning, you might not even be able to keep your eyes open. Don't worry this should be expected after spending that many hours studying and not sleeping. Get some coffee, a hot shower, and get ready to take this final head on!
9. No Turning Back Now
Well, it's time. All of the pressure to do well, remember all of what you studied, get a good grade on the final, it's all in your head. Take a deep breath, you know this stuff front to back!
10. Hey I Know This!
There is no better feeling than knowing how to do stuff that appears on the final or remembering everything you studied. If this happens on the final, don't be one bit embarrassed to take a moment and give a little fist pump.
11. Getting Done With the Final and Talking With Your Friends About It
On the other hand, there is no worse feeling than turning in the final, talking with your friends about it, and you didn't have any of the answers they did. Even though the test is done and over with, there is still a feeling inside you of pure fear. Don't worry though, sometimes you do alright and all of your friends do terrible.
12. It's All Over!
No matter how you did, 36 or 90 percent, you are finally done with finals! When you get done with that last test, the most appropriate way to leave is to dance off! All the stress from that class is finally gone, well unless you failed it or got a bad grade, but even then you deserve at least a minute of stress-free dancing!
13. Remain Positive, No Matter How Difficult
Finals weeks is super stressful, but try your best to get the info into your head and to remain positive! Just know that the Cast of "The Office" is cheering you on!
