In college forcing yourself to go to the gym may be the hardest thing you'll ever do. You hate it, but you have to go if you want to avoid gaining weight from all those Dhall desserts that you can't resist. If only there was a way to enjoy working out... BUT WAIT, there is! It's called Zumba and I assure you, it's the most fun you'll ever have at the gym.

It's an hour of dancing.

I don't know a college girl that doesn't love dancing. Whether it's at a lodge, club, or a basement where you're ankle deep in a mixture of beer, sweat and mud, we make it work. So just imagine, you get to dance for an hour and get a workout at the same time? Sign me up.

It actually works almost every part of your body.

The great thing about Zumba is that it seems like you're just dancing, but you're actually working out your legs, arms, core and any other body part you can think of. It might not seem like it at the time, but you'll be feeling it the next day.

It isn't a boring workout.

Even when you listen to music or watch TV, using the elliptical for an hour is still one of the most boring things on earth. Running on the treadmill? Still sucks. Running outside? A little more entertaining but still excruciating. Zumba? I don't even remember that I'm at the gym because I'm busting out dance moves like I'm at a downtown clab, except I'm wearing gym clothes. It's the best of both worlds!

You don't have to wear headphones.

Every time I try to wear headphones at the gym, they end up just getting in the way and being super annoying. But in a Zumba class, there's music blasting over the speakers, so no headphones needed here! And it's good music, too. Usually when I leave a class, I go straight home trying to find at least one song I heard.

It gives you a chance to perfect your dance moves.

It gives you a chance to learn new dance moves to break out next weekend. You can practice pop, locking and dropping it without being judged because 99 percent of the people in the class look just as absurd as you do.

So give Zumba a chance. It will be the most entertaining workout you've ever endured and it will give you some great moves to show off next time you're at the lodges. You'll look almost as good as Beyoncé, but not quite there yet. Give it a few more weeks of classes.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
