Oh, "Friends." Those six charismatic characters that we all know and love. Monica, Rachel, Chandler, Ross, Joey and Phoebe are all so unique but come together to make up such a great group of friends. So what if the characters from "Friends" were Virginia colleges? Which college fits each character's personality the best? After polling 30 college students, here's what I was able to come up with.

Ross is definitely the University of Virginia.

Ross is the smartest of the friend group. I'm not trying to insinuate anything about UVA students by saying that. But, Ross is also the most pretentious. From always referring to himself in the third person as "Dr. Ross Geller" and always talking about something scientific (and boring), Ross fits perfectly as the University of Virginia. If he were UVA, I'm sure he would refer to himself as a "fourth year."

Phoebe would be Virginia Commonwealth University.

Virginia Commonwealth University and Richmond are known across the state for being "artsy." Who better than Phoebe Buffay to represent VCU? Her passion for flea market furniture, her talent with music ("Smelly Cat), and her beliefs in the afterlife -- Phoebe is as hipster as they come.

Rachel is James Madison University.

This was a tough one. Rachel is perfect, obviously, but she is also stuck in the middle. She came into the show liberating herself from her parents and grew throughout the show by working to make herself successful. Everyone loves Rachel and everyone loves JMU.

Monica has to be William and Mary.

Competition is Monica's life. From ping pong to football to making the best Thanksgiving dinner, Monica has to be the best. If this sounds familiar to you, then you probably go to the College of William and Mary. That's why if Monica was a Virginia college she would part of the Tribe, and I bet she would beat out every single person there.

Chandler is Virginia Tech.

It may not make sense at first, but Chandler could be a Hokie. Chandler is the glue that holds the group together. If you've ever been to Southwest Virginia, you know there's nothing more important than Virginia Tech and sometimes it's the only thing that's holding some relationships together. Also, Chandler is the butt of everyone's jokes in the group.

Last, but definitely not least, Joey would be Radford.

My personal favorite and school of choice! Joey has it all and so does Radford University. Good looks (great campus), great personality (great student body) and although he doesn't have the best reputation for being the brightest, Joey always comes through for the friends. Besides, who else is a famous soap opera star in the group?

Virginia colleges and the "Friends" characters all have their stereotypes. At least now they have each other.
