Everyone stresses out. We are in that time in the semester when exams seem never ending and you start to freak out about your grades. When your homework and exams get the best of you, there are a few different ways to cope. Over the past few years, I have come up with a few stress relieving techniques that work for me. Here are my seven favorites.
Take a walk. Enjoy this beautiful fall weather and walk around campus. You’ll be
amazed at how great you feel after you have walked around and done some people
watching. Do not bring your phone. It is amazing the things you miss when you are
refreshing Instagram and Snapchat.
Go to the gym. The
most obvious pointer, but still worth mentioning. Working out will relieve all
the built up stress in your system. Taking a study break to head over to the
gym for an hour can help you from falling into a studying slump.
Watch an
episode of The Office.
One of my personal favorite techniques. A good
laugh will go far when you are stressed out. Netflix doesn’t have to be the
enemy. Learn how to watch one episode and be done. I know it is hard, but trust
me. It can be done.
Drink tea. Drinking
hot tea has so many benefits. It has antioxidants as well as caffeine.
According to Today Health, it can also help boost your immune system. The worst
thing that could happen is to get sick when you have a to-do list a mile long. Drinking tea just makes you feel better all around.
Swim. Whether you
want to swim laps or just hang out in the Rec Pool, being in water will help
you relieve some stress. It may just be the swimmer in me, but there is nothing
better than being underwater away from the stress for a while.Â
Eat
with friends.
Take a study break for dinner. Sometimes you are studying so hard you
forget to get a meal in. Going out with friends can help relieve the stress. A
laugh with friends can always help you get through a rough day.
Call your
mom.
When all else fails, call your mom. She always knows what to say to
make you forget about how hard school is. Tell her about your day. Tell her
about your classes. Moms love that stuff. I know mine does.
I hope you find that some of these will work
for you. Happy studying!
