The day I have been waiting for all summer is almost here: Sept. 25. Get ready ladies, Scandal is finally returning for season four, tomorrow.
If you haven’t crossed over into Scandal addiction yet, stop reading, pull out your laptop and open Netflix immediately. If you are a Scandal fan, read on and enjoy. Glass of wine, optional.
With all of the plot twists that Shonda Rhimes wrote in for season three, I’m not entirely sure that season four can get any better. We were left
in despair during the season three finale, as the infamous Olivia Pope jetted off to an unknown location with Jake Ballard. I don’t know about you, ladies, but I’m Team
Fitz all the way. If you’re not, I won’t judge you (much). But, seriously, how
could you be Team Jake?
Season 4
will begin with Fitz as the newly reelected president. But one question
still remains: where in the world is Olivia Pope. A teaser was released last
week that revealed she was on a beach, glass of wine in hand, naturally. So
what’s in store for season four? TVLine interviewed Shonda Rhimes, the show’s
creator, and found out some juicy information. She stated that Olivia would be
coming back to Washington, but
everything will be different. She said this season will show a different side
of Mellie, more of Abby, and a power hungry Papa Pope.
Since I’ve
had all summer to contemplate what will happen this upcoming season, I’ve come
up with a few predictions, as follows.
Olivia
will come back to DC with boyfriend Jake in tow. This one pains me, but it is a possibility.
Olivia has admitted that she has feelings for Jake. She also often states she
just wants to “stand in the light.” She knows that by being with Jake, she
won’t have to hide the relationship, like she does with Fitz.
Two
episodes in, Olivia gives in to Fitz and we see a little action in the Oval
Office. I honestly believe this is inevitable.
Olivia can’t stay awake from Fitz and Fitz can’t stay away from Olivia. It’s
bound to happen.
Huck
and Quinn break off their relationship. I don’t know about you all, but I hope to
God this one is true. Their relationship is strange and somewhat creepy. I like
Huck, but the new Quinn is freaking me out.
Mellie
and Andrew, round two. Poor Mellie. You can’t help but feel badly for
her. I started the series hating her, but as the episodes have rolled on, I’ve
become more and more of a fan. She gets what she wants and she gets things
done. What else is there to know?
That’s all
I have for you, so get ready to turn on ABC at 9 p.m. tomorrow. I know it’s
Cactus night, but ask yourself which one is more important. Go have a wine
night and watch some Olivia Pope with your girls. I know I am.
