Tina Fey and Amy Poehler share a special kind of friendship that is hard to not be envious of. But when you think about it, we all have a friend that we can be our true self with (when I say our true self I mean obnoxious, rude, and occasionally drunk). Here's a shoutout to the best friends that allow us to love hard and hate even harder.
You share an equal hatred for absolutely everyone, except each other.
Everybody sucks and you rock. That's that. And it's just girl code that if your best friend hates someone so do you. And if you don't hate them, then you're wrong.
You never let the other have the spotlight.
If there's a chance to photobomb your best friend's selfie you're obviously going to seize the opportunity. They're not allowed to look cute on Snapchat without you being a creepy stalker in the background.
You both love to watch people make fools of themselves.
You even encourage it most of the time. It's like it's always a part of your weekend agenda to makesomeone do something really dumb that they'll regret the next morning. But it's okay because you both enjoyed it.
You take every chance you get to have a drink together.
Even if it's in the middle of a school day or just because your best friend is having a hard day and needs to let some steam off. Or in Tina and Amy's case, while in the middle of hosting the Golden Globes.
Being the main event at parties is common.
When you two get together, it's like you're unstoppable. You make jokes and people laugh (sometimes) and everyone knows you two are a dynamic duo.Â
Every time you see each other it's like the first time.
Running into each other on campus is like the best day ever. You scream, hug, compliment each other for finally not wearing sweats to class, and go along your merry way. And you'll probably see each other again in a few hours where the same reaction will occur.
You are both always right and everyone knows it.
Let's face it, together you know everything about everything, duh. Now go out with your best friend and rock your day like Tina and Amy know you can.Â
