Hillary Clinton On 'SNL' Good For Her Campaign

The sketch comedy series “Saturday Night Live”is popularly known for its comedic interpretations of popular political figures. One of the most popular impersonations in the recent years has been that of Hillary Clinton, who has been portrayed in the past by former cast member Amy Poehler and now by current cast member Kate McKinnon.

Poehler always portrayed Clinton in a light of simply being overly eager in her search for political power and importance, in a very similar light to the character of Leslie Knope on the popular television show “Parks and Recreation.” McKinnon, on the other hand, takes things a bit further and portrays Clinton as not just being overly eager and overzealous, but as the most ambitious presidential candidate to have ever campaigned for the office, one that will stop at nothing to get the job done.

To many viewers of the show who are not particularly inclined to pay close attention to politics, these portrayals may make certain impressions on voters whether they are good or bad. That is why I think that when the politicians who are being portrayed on the show make an appearance, take a few digs and are able to make fun of themselves, it is extremely beneficial for their campaign.

Hillary Clinton’s appearance on “Saturday Night Live” this past weekend will surely do just that for many voters all over the country. Getting to see a bit of the personality of the candidate as well as their sense of humor (and the fact that they have a sense of humor) is so crucial to winning their party nomination and getting into the White House. Sure, you can go on and on all day about their platform and their policies, but at the end of the day he candidate that will be elected president is the candidate that the majority of America would rather sit down and have dinner with. America wants a President that seems like the kind of person they would go out and have a beer with.

So, Hillary Clinton’s performance on “SNL” as bartender Val chatting with Kate McKinnon portraying Mrs. Clinton was an excellent way to exhibit her sense of humor and show that she knows how to have at least a little bit of fun. Be sure to check out the sketch if you have not already seen it, and see whether or not you think her appearance was worthwhile and do good for her campaign!

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
