Being the child of Oklahoma fans definitely impacts your childhood. With crimson and cream everywhere, it's hard to not constantly feel the spirit of the Oklahoma Sooners. These little things have been experienced by everyone who grew up surrounded by OU fans.
1. The television was always off limits on game day.
Forget Saturday morning cartoons, kids. These football fans have to watch the pre-show, the game, the game review, and all of the highlight reels. Saturday's were definitely the days to go outside and play.
2. You were dressed up in Crimson and Cream at some point.
Despite the fact that you had no idea what football even was, your parents definitely paraded you around in their favorite colors.
3. You know exactly what a schooner is.
While no one else in the world has any idea what a schooner is, because of the copious amounts of times you've heard about the 'Sooner Schooner' you know exactly what one looks like.
4. If some one yells 'BOOMER' you have to yell 'SOONER.'
It is a war anthem, and must be chanted.
5. You love the delicacy that is tailgate food.
Pigs in a blanket, chicken wings, burgers, oh my! Tailgate food was always the highlight of game day.
6. You can name at least one OU quarterback.
Be it Jones, Bradford, Watts or White. If you're ever asked to name a famous Oklahoma quarterback for trivia night, you've got it in the bag.
7. The Red River Rivalry was a national holiday.
When the game started, you were either glued to the TV, at a giant block party or sitting in the stands, watching the action unfold. In your house, the OU/Texas game was more important than Christmas.
8. If someone yells 'TEXAS', you have to yell 'SUCKS'.
Texas will always be the enemy in your mind.
9. Yet, some times you'd throw up the longhorns sign, just to make your parents mad.
They'd always get frustrated and it always made you laugh.
10. The fight song was constantly stuck in your head.
That song is too damn catchy.
11. Despite rooting for a new team, the Sooners will always have a special place in your heart.
You've formed your own opinions and picked your own favorite team, but you'll still yell 'SOONER!' in response to someone's 'BOOMER!'
