Across the average college campus the pandemonium of finals has struck. Gone are the blissful "reading days" and final review lectures of courses. It is the Hunger Games of college--final exam week.
While I, like so many, stress and sweat and basically freak out about classes, final tests, papers, presentations, and the ever so wonderful group projects, one thing I have to remember--finals are not going to kill me.
This week alone I've heard every range of thoughts on finals.
"I'm going to drop out."
"I calculated it and I need exactly a 58.7 on the final to pass."
"If I get an A+ it could help cancel out my C-."
"I'll never get into grad school with this GPA."
Relax! As my friends begin to move out, I became increasingly more aware of just how fantastic this year has been. Football games, tailgates, rushing, experiencing LDOC...twice, hilarious tennis classes, intramural games, basketball victories, snow days, visiting other colleges, late night cookie runs, going to concerts, and meeting new people. I could go on but I am sure most students have had similar experiences. All of these fun days would be impossible without finals. Lets be real here, college is about as great as it gets. If one week of finals is what it takes for me to stay here then bring it on. I'll take a week of stressful finals in order to have a semester of fun any day. So to all those anxiously stressing and worrying-- relax. Finals are your golden ticket to fun. So do your best and study hard, we all want to return for another year at our favorite school.
