Me And My Pledge Class

25

If there is one thing I've learned as a Gamma Phi, it's that your pledge class will always be your pledge class.

There are many ups and downs to the road known as college. One aspect is the academic one, where every Greek student strives for perfection and a way to keep the chapter average GPA at an all time high. The other is the social side, where you make your connections and friends for life. I know the little sayings we come up with to represent "sisterhood" can sound totally cliche but, when it comes down to it, your pledge class and your sisters are the people who will be there for you in any and every situation you can think of.

I can already see down the road for the next few years. I will be sharing some of life's best moments with my Gamma Phi Beta sisters. I picture graduation with my pledge class and sharing senior year together and every event in between. There is so much love shared between all of us as we communicate in our pledge class Facebook group and our huge group message (yes, all 45 of us are on one group message), constantly supporting each other, answering questions and in being silly, too. There is always someone to take a cab home with or to go to the mall with. Now, I never ride the bus alone to meetings or eat solo. I met some of my best friends because of my pledge class and I couldn't imagine Greek life without my fall '13s. I will never forget our first social or meeting and how quickly we bonded. I'm so glad I rushed in Fall '13.

After a year, I've come to know so many of them and love the similarities we all have in common as well as our unique differences. It is true: there is nothing like sisterhood within your sorority. My Fall 13s make me a better person and they inspire me to become the best me I can be. All of the fresh opinions and support in tough situations makes college survival so much easier than it would be without them.

So, here is to my pledge class. I can't wait to share the next few years with you and to experience all of the amazing adventures I know we will have. Sharing the Big/Little process -- I'll be getting a GLittle, our first fall recruitment process, and everything in between. Thank you for the memories we have and will continue to make and for being the best pledge class ever! I love you all to the Crescent Moon and back!

Being Invisible The Best Super Power

The best superpower ever? Being invisible of course. Imagine just being able to go from seen to unseen on a dime. Who wouldn't want to have the opportunity to be invisible? Superman and Batman have nothing on being invisible with their superhero abilities. Here are some things that you could do while being invisible, because being invisible can benefit your social life too.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Whether you met your new love interest online, through mutual friends, or another way entirely, you'll definitely want to know what you're getting into. I mean, really, what's the point in entering a relationship with someone if you don't know whether or not you're compatible on a very basic level?

Consider these 21 questions to ask in the talking stage when getting to know that new guy or girl you just started talking to:
