Need a 24 hour deli after a long night? No need to worry, Cherry Valley to the rescue! I recommend ordering one of their chicken special sandwiches with brown gravy on a garlic roll.

2. My Hero- North Merrick

In the mood for an old-fashioned sub? My Hero in North Merrick is the place for you. The irresistible Chicken Club will have your mouth watering from the crisp chicken cutlet cooked to perfection to savory flavors of its toppings. (CASH ONLY!!)

3. Rolling Spring Roll Shop- Farmingdale

Big fan of Vietnamese food? Or just want to try but don't know where to go? Rolling Spring Roll should be one of your first stops. I guess I'm a little bias because my dad's good friend is the owner, but I've taken many of my friends here and they all love it! They have many rice, noodle, salad and sandwich dishes that all appetites would appreciate. Come try it out and I promise Rolling Spring Roll won't disappoint.

4. All American Hamburger Drive-In- Massapequa

Come to one of Long Island's most loved burger places, All American! From their burgers, hot dogs, knishes, milkshakes and fries, their choices are absolutely delicious and you can't say no. I recommend the Double-Double with a chocolate milkshake. (CASH ONLY!!)

5. Souvlaki Place of Bayville- Bayville

Don't know where to get good gyro's on Long Island? Souvlaki Place in Bayville should be your #1 stop. From their mouth watering meats topped with their creamy tzatziki sauce, Souvlaki doesn't disappoint to give you the Greek flavors you've been craving. Souvlaki is in a beautiful location and you can bring your gyros out and eat them on the water!

6. Marvel Frozen Dairy Inc.- Lido beach

Tired of your same old Carvel and hometown ice cream? Come down to the beautiful Lido Beach and order some deliciously creamy ice cream while you take a walk on Long Beach's boardwalk. Even your typical "vanilla soft serve with rainbow sprinkles on a cone" won't disappoint.

7. Mizumi- Little Neck

Although this location may be a bit pricey, this sushi buffet should definitely be a stop if you're looking to splurge one night for good sushi. Besides their top notch sushi, their food choices are cooked to perfection and will not let you down.

8. Thom Thom Steak and Seafood- Wantagh

Okay, I can honestly say I've never had better steak than at this spot. My family knows the owners quite well and every single time they don't disappointment with any of the dishes ordered. Their steak is juicy and absolutely mouth watering and their sushi is beyond fresh. Their staff is warm and welcoming and I can guarantee you'll never have bad service.

9. Riella's Homestyle- Levittown

This establishment just opened in 2015 and I have nothing bad about to say about the food. Come try some of your favorite Italian dishes with a family dinner feel. The one thing that stood out to me right away on the menu was "Nonna's Stuffed Garlic Knots". What is it? Chicken parm stuffed in a garlic knot. If that doesn't get your mouth watering, I don't know what will.

10. Bubba's Burrito Bar- Islip

Tired of your same old Chipotle and Moes? Come to Bubba's in Islip and try one of their burritos, quesadillas, and their freshly made guac and I promise it'll have you coming back for more.

From dessert crepes to savory crepes, Crazy Crepe Cafe has everything you could possibly want in a crepe. Strawberry and Nutella. Pizza Crepe. Everything!

12. Guiradelco- Westbury

In the mood for some homestyle Filipino cooking? This is the place to go. I've been eating this restaurant since I was a baby and I've never had any complaints. Their barbecue is so delicious, the lechon is mouth watering and crispy, and forget your halo halo! Make sure to stop by if you're in the area!

13. Little Vincent's Pizza- Huntington

Who doesn't love pizza? And what better than hot pizza topped with fresh cold mozzarella cheese on top? Come visit Little Vincent's to try their famous cold cheese slice (or a few)!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
