The 10 Types Of People You Meet In College

College. The place where nothing will ever be the same. Once you step foot on campus your first day back at school, simply your first day in college it becomes a zoo right before your eyes. Back in high school you were used to specific types of people. In college that is not the case. The countless types of people you meet in your classrooms will certainly blow your mind. With all the different interests, styles, colors, and sizes you will indeed come across types individuals you would have never thought you would ever meet. Compiled is a list of individuals you can distinguish off the bat within your time at college. Being aware of these people will make your journey across the safari a great one.

1. The sleeper.

She will stay up all night just to end up sound asleep in class. With no doubt you will have a classmate that sleeps through the entire lecture and goes unnoticed. Somehow this person always passes the class. But how did you do that? Please teach me your ways!

2. The slacker.

You do not want to be this guy. The one with the headphones at the back of the class asking you for a pencil and a sheet of paper.

3. The involved one.

Management club. Check. Fashion club. Check. 18 credits. Check. National Leadership Society. Check. On campus job at the library. Check. Name any more clubs and this person is most likely in it. Getting involved is certainly key, so look for this girl.

4. The dress to impress chick.

We have all seen her. With the stilettos, the super straight, sleek hair, the smokey cat eye. Ready to hit the runway during chemistry.

5. The tech addict.

Guilty. Maybe this is 99 percent of us. The girl typing her life away on her laptop. The guy on his phone switching from Facebook to ESPN. The girl browsing through American Apparel on her tablet. Some of us just cannot pay attention in class. Pardon us professors, it is certainly not you.

6. The "Who is that?"

It always happens. First day of English and there are no seats. Second day and half the class shows up. Come midterms you say "Who is that?" Day after midterms he is gone. Finals day, he is back. This happens because professors do not enforce the attendance policy. Hopefully you pass the class though.

7. The eater.

We are college students, we are always hungry. Some of us carry snacks or bring lunch to class. There is always that one girl that brings an entire meal from home and eats it right beside you. Are you going to share. No take that away from me, it stinks.

8. The sorority squad.

The group you see at the cafeteria eating in cohesion. The inseparable clique. The group with black leggings, sneakers, and letters. I may or may not be guilty.

9. The crazy frat boy.

There might be one loud frat boy that annoys you whenever he gets the chance. He skips class and parties every night.

9. The participator/ overachiever.

Some may call this guy the over achiever or the teacher's pet but let's be nice here. The one that says an A- is not good enough. Hey I'll take it if you do not want it. On the bright side, hard work does pay off for them. This is the person you want as a group partner

10. And then there's you.

The one who wants to understand every one of the aforementioned. Sometimes you will, sometimes you will not. However, being aware of all these people may or may not be a positive thing.

Only time will tell. For now just roam around like a free bird and enjoy the zoo adventure, sometimes good, sometimes bad, that is college.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
