12 Steps To Becoming A Fraternity Sweetheart

A fraternity sweetheart is someone who is beloved and befriended by the members of a fraternity.

She is treated with the highest regard due to her great morals and flawless personality. The passion a sweetheart has for the fraternity is beyond any explanation known to man, but her picture on their composite proves how much the fraternity appreciates her. If you have ever wondered how to land such an honorable title, listen up.

1. Date a guy in the fraternity.
2. Make your boyfriend fall madly in love with you.
3. Your boyfriend, and other members, consider you an honorary brother of their chapter.
4. You are sometimes found guilty of singing the fraternity's chants and songs while showering or casually hanging out.
5. You are known as the fraternity frat rat. This phrase denotes that you are either in class or chilling at the frat house.
6. You eat breakfast, lunch and dinner multiple times at the frat house.
7. You attend every single formal, regardless of whether you have a huge test the next day.
8. You know the secret handshake and have seen the chapter room.
9. The fraternity’s daily drivers not only take you to their gatherings on the weekend, but also to your classes and Chipotle.
10. The house mom refers to you by your first name and not, “one of those girls,” from the weekend.
11. You wear their letters more than you wear your own sorority’s letters.
12. And you love every single part of the fraternity.

Kiley Donaldson, Mizzou Sigma Chi’s 2014-2015 Sweetheart, became the Sigma Chi Sweetheart at their Sweetheart Ball in April 2014. Her noble title gives her access to their study files and is recognized as the Mizzou Sigma Chi Sweetheart across the nation.

“I love being the Sigma Chi Sweetheart. My car is no longer threatened with towing when I park in their lot,” Donaldson said. To remind the Sigma Chi’s of her undeniable love for them, Donaldson also enjoys baking a monthly batch of desserts for the chapter and she has even put effort into meeting the new members of Sigma Chi.

Becoming a fraternity sweetheart takes a lot of dedication to a fraternity, but the perks are numerous. So, if you already find yourself fulfilling the majority of the steps listed then, hopefully, you will earn the title.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
