10 Drinks to Order on Spring Break

For those of you that are of age, here are some delicious cocktails to give you the full spring break experience. The drink recipes may vary, depending on your destination and how strong you like your drinks.

If you aren't going somewhere warm and tropical for spring break, that's okay! We recommend making one of these in your kitchen and taking it, along with your floaties, to the bath tub. Cheers!

1. Electric lemonade

Vodka, blue curacao and sour mix are poured into the glass. Then, it's filled to the top with lemon-lime soda and garnished with a lemon wedge.

2. Mojito

10-ish crushed mint leaves, lime wedges, and sugar are muddled in a glass. The glass is then filled to the top with ice, and rum is added. Carbonated water is used to fill the glass, and then it's garnished with a lime wedge. Maybe check to see if you have any mint leaves stuck in your teeth before smiling at the hot life guard.

3. Michelada

Clamato, a lager, lime juice, Worcestershire sauce, hot sauce, and Maggi Seasoning are mixed, added to a glass of ice, and garnished with a lime. Then, a combination of salt and chili powder is added to the rim of the glass.

4. Piña Colada

Ice, pineapple, pineapple juice, coconut cream, and white and dark rums are blended until smooth and frosty. This frozen drink is garnished with pineapple slices.

5. Strawberry Daiquiri

Light rum, triple sec orange liqueur, lime juice, sugar, strawberries, and ice are blended. The frozen drink is garnished with a strawberry.

6. Miami Vice

A piña colada and a strawberry daiquiri mixed together, because you're high maintenance.

7. Bob Marley

This layered drink has grenadine at the bottom, creme de menthe in the middle, and 151 mixed with creme de banana on the top. Possibly frozen if you need to cool your hot-self off.
8. Scooby Snack

Rum, creme de banana, melon liqueur and pineapple juice are poured into a shaker over ice and shaken with whipped cream. It's then strained into a glass, taken as a shooter because, you know, it's just a snack.

9. Tequila Sunrise

This cocktail is made of tequila, orange juice, and grenadine, and served unmixed in the glass. Snaps to the young ones who haven't ruined tequila for themselves yet.

10. Sex on the Beach

Vodka, peach schnapps, orange (or pineapple) juice, and cranberry juice are added to a shaker filled with ice. It's then strained into a glass of fresh ice and garnished with an orange slice. Can you even say that you were a college kid on spring break if you didn't have (a) sex on the beach?

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
