With spring semester rapidly approaching, every senior is feeling mixed emotions. They are excited to get back to school and make the most out of their last four months before they have to enter the real world. They are also feeling a mixture of sadness and pure freak out about having to become a full-fledged adult. Here are 16 things a second semester senior thinks.Â
1. Winter break has been long enough. I’m bored and ready to go back to school. Â
2. But wait, this is the last winter break I’ll ever have. I’m never going to be able to sit on my couch in my pajamas for four weeks straight again. They don’t do that in the real world right?
3. They definitely frown upon it. So I should live it up now-- and by live it up I mean watch every movie on demand I’ve ever wanted to see while my parents still pay for my cable.Â
4. Thank goodness it’s time to get back to school. If one more family member asks me about my love life or future plans I may hit them. Â
5. Syllabus week- more like syllabus semester. I’m never going to class. Â
6. Teachers who make attendance mandatory should be put in a room full of Legos with the lights shut off.Â
7. I’m going to go out all the time. Even Mondays aren’t safe from my drunken debauchery. Â
8. Okay, never going out on a Monday again. Hangovers are rough when you’re this old. Â
9. Does this mean I can’t go out during the week when I have a full-time job? How hungover is too hungover for the work place? Â
10. Hangovers are the perfect time to have that special someone to cuddle with to make you feel better. Maybe I’ll text my old hookup buddy. Â
11. Wow, okay. I can’t believe I just did that. I forgot how much of a terrible person he was. I can’t wait to graduate and meet real men with real jobs whose idea of a date isn’t taking me to Pizza Kingdom at 2 a.m. and whose house doesn't smell like fraternity parties and lost dignity.Â
12. Does that mean I want to graduate? Â
13. Am I even ready to be a real person yet? Are the people hiring me even real people?Â
14. I bet they are. I bet they have their lives together and live in cute apartments in the city with great love lives. They go out to the hottest clubs every weekend and do brunch on Sundays. Â
15. I go to Chipotle on Sundays when I’m hungover. That’s like brunch right?
16. I just threw up in a bush on my way to class. Definitely not ready to graduate yet.Â
