Things Every Girl Whose Best Friend Is A Guy Understands

I have some amazing girlfriends, but I would have to say that having a guy best friend is great, but difficult at times, because people get the completely wrong impression. See if you can relate!

All your friends and family think you're dating.

You love going to his house in sweats and no makeup, ready to play video games all day because you know he isn't going to judge you.

Because of the way you dress and talk around him, people are surprised to see you're actually not a tomboy.

You even start talking like the guys, and give your guy friend the dish on girls.

He makes himself at home with your family, eating your food, living in your room like it's his. Same goes vice versa.

You have a bodyguard 24/7, even when youā€™re not actually together.

You text each other 24/7, making people think even more that you're in a relationship together.

And even after you convince your parents a hundred times that you aren't dating each other, they still think you are.

In your phone contacts, he has the craziest name and emojis instead of his real name.

You know it's a true friendship when you swear on the bro code: bros before hoes.

He brings you around his guy friends and you feel more comfortable being the only girl and eating pizza, skating, and playing video games than being around girls who gossip and do "girly" things.

You realize at the end of the day he is the best person to talk to because he will give you his most honest opinion and won't hide anything from you.

He'll tell you when you're bragging.

And he'll tell you when you aren't talking yourself up enough.

And finally, he is like the brother you never had, whose got your back and only wants the best for you. Love you man!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
