11 Things Only Sisters Understand

I remember well the exact moment when I realized I was going to have a sister. The concept that I was no longer going to be alone was something that I did not fully understand… until later in life when I found myself being a part of my sisters’ lives and their lives being a part of mine. Because, let’s be honest - your sisters are a big reason why you are the person you are today. They helped you build your personality and made you stronger through the phases of your life.

I myself have two younger sisters and it’s the best thing in the world! I can’t imagine my life without them now. So I decided to write about the great things only sisters understand!

1. They borrow your clothes, and you borrow theirs.

Yes, you know what I am talking about! You want to wear that pair of jeans with those cute, black heels, but you can’t find them in your closet. You don’t even hesitate to go to your sisters’ rooms to look for your stuff ‘cause you know it was them! It’s bad when they borrow your clothes, but when you need something that they have, you yourself would move Heaven and Earth to get it!

2. Shopping

Oh my gosh, yes!! When it comes to shopping, your sisters know to make the best of it! They know what looks good on you and they would do whatever it takes to get something for you, even if you don’t have the money. Y’all love to help each other with the bags and just laugh and have a great sister shopping day!

3. Late night talks

You know what it is to do homework late at night and hear the knock on your door. Your sisters would come in to “just talk”. Y’all would lay in bed hugging pillows and talking until one of you fell asleep. You know you need at least 7-8 hours of sleep to be awake the next day, but those late night talks with your sisters are so worth it, no matter what.

4. Your confidants

Your sisters are your confidants without a doubt! They keep your secrets and you keep theirs.

5. Your partners in crime

They know how to take madness to the limit. And you’ll do things in front of them that are so crazy that you wouldn’t do even in front of your closest friends.

6. They are always there

They have seen you in your lowest and in your highest moments of life, and they are still there for you.

7. They cover for you

Your sisters are the best in covering for you when it is necessary. Of course that means you owe them one too, but you would cover for them too whatever it takes.

8. When one of us has a car…

…we go crazy. Nothing beats a day out with your sisters! You roll the windows down and sing One Direction or Taylor Swift songs at the top of your lungs.

9. Your best friends

Even though there are fights and disagreements sometimes, you can’t take them out of your “best friend’s list.” They are always at the top of the list and nothing can change that.

10. They are the best cheerleaders

They know exactly what to do and what to say to cheer you up. Sometimes it’s just a joke and other times it’s a long speech. But after that, you feel as if nothing happened!

11. You can’t live without them

You could cry just thinking about something happening to your sisters. You'd do whatever it takes to make sure they are okay because you can’t conceive living your life without them. They bring joy and tears of laughter to your life.

And of course, I cannot end this without dedicating this to my beautiful sisters!

Las amo!

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
