1. Ten Things I Hate About You
Lets start this one off by talking about the beauty that is Heath Ledger, may he rest in peace. Julia Stiles’ acting is a bit questionable, and this may come out of a place of pure rage and jealousy, but she does not deserve Heath’s love, But I digress. Watch this movie when you need to believe in love again, because we all have those moments.
2. Clueless
Another dead actress, but that doesn’t stop it from being one of the greatest. I mean the main character’s name is Cher for Christ’s sake. Overlooking that she ends up with her ex-step-brother, Cher is livin’ the life, and Dion has a killer nose ring and braids. This movie sums up everything we want in life; a computer in our closets, copious amounts of crop tops, and true love. Swoon.
3. Dazed and Confused
Lets forget the abundant drugs and underage drinking and focus on the beautiful parts of this movie: Matthew McConaughey and livin’ the teenage dream. High school was fun, but never this fun, and we all wish we were the characters in this movie, don’t lie.
4. She’s All That
A classic movie about the “nerdy” girl turning cool to impress the popular boy. Honestly it’s a little pathetic and throws women back to the 1950’s when impressing men was the most important thing in the world but everyone loves a good makeover. Take off your glasses and throw on a red dress and BAM you’re the prom queen.
5. Never Been Kissed
I cannot believe a 30-year-old goes back to high school and can pull it off, but this movie is a love story for the ages. Drew Barrymore kills it as an undercover journalist, and the hunky Michael Vartan kills it as a potentially creepy high school teacher. The final kiss scene on the baseball field is a sight for sore eyes and what dreams are made of.
