23 Reasons Why Indiana University is the Best School in the Nation

1. Bloomington is the absolute best college town in the world. Everyone who says their campus is better is just deaf, dumb and blind.  
2. Our basketball team has won 5 NCAA titles, with more on their way. #CODYZELLER
3. Indiana has its own theme song created by fellow Hoosiers that is played at every single frat party, tailgate, dorm pregame, you name it.  “If you're a BTown girl put your hands up! If you’re a Btown boy put your hands up. If you’re an Indiana Hoosier put your hands up!” That’s right, you all know those lyrics… and if you don’t, please educate yourself.
4. Kelly School of Business is ranked #8 in the nation.
5.  Jacobs School of music ranked #1 in the nation.
6. Pizza X.
7. Pizza X dipping sauces (RANCH FO DAYZ).
8. Greek Life reigns supreme, with 22 sororities and 32 fraternities. Need I say more.
9. LITTLE 500: The greatest college weekend of all time.
10. Only in Bloomington can you find goldfish in your salad. Thank you Mother Bears for this genius creation.
11. Water Long Island iced teas, Thank you Kilroys. On that note, thank you for your Breadsticks and Buff Chick Dillas. 
12. When your parents are in town, the first thing you do is take them to Nick’s so you can school them at Sink the Biz.
13. On a casual Tuesday night, you can walk into Kilroy’s and see Mark Cuban ripping shots.
14. Endless amounts of the Hoosier favorite, Grape Karkov.
15. The amazing seasons. Fall in Bloomington is beyond beautiful.
16. At Indiana, Candy striped overalls are not just accepted at tailgates, but encouraged.
17. Being ranked Top Party School by Playboy. And for being left out of Princeton Reviews' ranking... we know we rage too hard to even be on the list.
18. Our Men’s soccer team has won 8 national titles
19. $2 Holla. 
20. For having the nicest people you will ever meet.
21. IUDM. FTK.
22. The Sports Tree of Life.
23. Graduating and being apart of the Hoosier Nation for life.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines.
