Snapchat Emoji Meanings

For those of you who regularly update your apps, you will have noticed that Snapchat now places clever little emoji’s next to a person’s name in your recent snaps. But what do these little symbols really mean, you ask? Well, no one can be certain, but I will debrief you on what I think they represent.

The Gold Star- You shine brightly in that person’s life. They frequently want to see your bright face.

The Yellow Heart- This is the emoji that lets you know that you and that other person frequently snap one another. One time, my friend’s mom painted her walls yellow because it’s the color of happiness. So, this person is happiness.

The Red Heart- The once yellow friendship has now blossomed into a raging red rose with fire in both your hearts.

The Pink Hearts- Friendship goals. You have reached the level of friendship that reflects not one, but two hearts dancing around each other like two flamingos doing the tango through your recent list.

Sunglasses Face-

You both share a common interest in another fellow snapper. It’s a threesome that no one ever really wants to be a part of.

Smirking Face-

This person is trying to be your number one in life, but they are not a priority on your snapping list. Also, you could be the smirky face on someone else’s list. Don’t be a smirky face, be cautious.

Smiling Face-

This is a regular in your snap sending, but not regular enough to be a best friend. They are the person that you share certain things with like your lunch choice, but not the one you share your frequent ugly face with.

Fire Emoji-

You are on fire with this individual. Literally flaming. Or burning down. Either way, you two snapchat a lot.

100 Emoji-

#SnapchatGoals. You are on such a snapping streak with this person, that you both need to get a life. How does one even find enough time to reach this status?

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.
