7 Things Every Young Adult Should Know How To Do

As easy as it is to binge watch Netflix and sleep through our responsibilities, at some point—they're unavoidable. Not everyone has to be the perfect adult, but there are things every full person should know how to do. This list might require you to ask Mom or Dad to teach you a few things, but most things you're probably already doing (without even realizing it).

1. Watch Your Alcohol

You aren't always going to have your sober friend keeping an eye on you at social events. You need to know your limits and not feel pressured by anybody else. This skill will pay off when you have drinks with your boss.

2. Use Credit

There's this misconception that credit cards are the magical way you can get anything you want. Unfortunately, in America, debt is pretty hard to avoid, but you can try as hard as possible to limit it. Debt on your house is better than debt on new clothes.

3. Come Through With Promises

There comes a time when you are truly responsible for your words. If you make a promise to someone, keep it. That doesn't mean you always have to be the perfect friend, but know if your schedule allows you to meet up with them. If you're bus it's okay to say no!

4. Take Care of Yourself

This means that if you're very sick you should stay home from work, or even go to the doctor. This means that if you're not feeling like yourself, pamper yourself at least a little bit. Be in tune to what your mind and body need and give it to them.

5. Cook For Yourself (On a Basic Level)

I'm not saying that everyone needs to be a Barefoot-Contessa level chef, because we often don't have the time or money for that. Eating out every night is going to get expensive and unhealthy fast. This is when you can call up grandma and ask for all her coveted recipes.

6. Budget Yourself

This might be the hardest one of all because it requires some major self control. Everyone has a different budget they're living off of, but you should know yours. That means you should know how much of your pay check goes to what. Know how much wiggle room you have to go out or buy yourself non-necessities.

7. Set Goals, and Work Towards Them

Part of growing up is not only making your own goals, but actively working towards them. Maybe you have a goal to buy a new car in the next two years. That probably means counting your pennies and doing research now. Now matter how big your goal might be, you can get there with a little planning.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
