The Weather Is Changing and So Is Your Wardrobe
The seasons are finally changing in Tallahassee and we are beginning to experience some cold days, but the problem is that with cold weather comes a whole new set of wardrobe rules. We are going to go over the basics of what to wear to class, what to wear out, and how to flatter your body type with warm clothing. A problem with cold weather is that you can no longer wear Norts and a frat tank to class. Unfortunately, you have to put somewhat of an effort into your outfit. The first basic “do” to this year’s winter apparel is RIDING BOOTS. I couldn’t stress this enough – every girl should and needs to invest in a good pair of riding boots. Yes, they are somewhat pricey, but trust me, the amount of times you will use them will make up for your minor financial setback. Riding boots are the perfect asset to winter class attire because you can still be comfortable by pairing them with a pair of leggings. Another “do” to winter class apparel is a pea coat. Pea coats are perfect because they are the right amount of jacket to go with Tallahassee weather and a pea coat can be paired with almost anything- leggings, jeans, even a cute skirt with tights. Another investment to make is in scarves. Scarves are a great way to keep you warm and make any outfit look a tad more stylish. Now that we have gone over the do’s of what to wear to class in the cold weather, let’s move onto what to wear when you’re going out. One of the hardest challenges of the winter time is trying to decide what to wear out, because you want to look cute but also don’t want to freeze to death. One of the best pieces of advice I could give you is do wear one tight thing and another loose thing. By this, I mean wear a pair of leggings with a baggy off the shoulder, long sleeve shirt (with your riding boots, of course). This way you will still be warm, but at the same time can show off your cute little body and sense of style. Now if it’s just a tad bit cold outside and you can bear to show a little leg, then do wear a skirt. You can most definitely pair any high-waisted skirt with a long sleeve top and riding boots which will make just the perfect cold weather “out” outfit. These are the basic dos of cold weather apparel for going to class and going out. Don’t forget your essentials such as riding boots and leggings, and you will be just perfect for any cold weather occasion.
