Bagels and Milkshakes and Burritos, Oh My!

Oh Lubbock. A town we have all come to love after becoming the loyal Texas Tech students that we are. As much as we may all claim to love this lovely little town, its no secret that the biggest thing around these parts is Texas Tech itself. Lubbock is definitely a college town, and a great place to spend those college years. But maybe you came from a bigger city and you miss your favorite restaurant. The one that left you feeling completely satisfied after you thought you just might die of hunger. Whether it was a gigantic stuffed burrito, 99cent tacos or a delightful breakfast bagel sandwich, these breakfast, lunch, and dinner options left you always wanting more. But just one problem, your favorite restaurant has not quite made its way out here to West Texas.

As silly as it sounds, most of us can come to agreement that the one thing we miss while here in Lubbock is our favorite restaurant from back home. The food, the smells, the atmosphere brings back familiarity and it becomes a comforting experience. Well, although not every desired chain restaurant will be making their way to Lubbock, three great ones will be arriving here very soon and are bringing a lot of hype with them.

In the next coming weeks, three big name chain restaurants will be making their way to Raiderland leaving many Lubbock residents and Techsans extremely excited. Einstein Bros. Bagels, Jack in the Box, and Chipotle are the new celebs in town. People are excited and willing to do whatever it takes to be the first to experience the first bite into their favorite cuisine.

Einstein Bros. Bagels was the first to start some commotion with their grand opening Tuesday November 9th.  To celebrate the grand opening of a location in Lubbock, the first 100 people in line received free sandwiches each week for a year. People are going crazy for this incredible deal, and many made plans to begin lining up as early as 4am! Now those are some dedicated bagel lovers.

Another fellow joining us here in Lubbock is good old Jack, Jack in the Box that is. Apparently, this is not Jack’s first time in the LBK. Prior to its new arrival Jack in the Box had been in business but closed down in 2003. So those of you who have been missing your milkshakes, fries, burgers, and 99cent tacos from Jack in the Box, wait no longer because a location is opening very soon here in Lubbock!

Last but certainly not least is the beloved Chipotle. This little guy is bringing in some crazy amounts of excitement. Word has it that Chipotle is giving away passes to a lucky few to attend the grand opening! Although I am currently unaware of the freebies that will be given out on that special day, one would imagine it probably has something to do with free burritos. Needless to say the Lubbock community is very excited for Chipotle’s arrival to Lubbock. Prior to its arrival, Lubbock fans of Chipotle petitioned and demanded that a Chipotle be brought to Lubbock through a Facebook fan page. Well burrito lovers, your voice was loud and it was heard. Before you know it Chipotle fans will be able to finally indulge in the burrito bliss they have so desperately desired for oh so long.
