Overrated

I understand that many people have their own personal opinions on some of these choices, but this is only expressing my own personal beliefs.

6. MTV

MTV used to be all about the music, but today it plays the most ridiculous TV shows that are basically the same thing every episode. Shows like "Jersey Shore" and "Teen Mom" offer nothing but pure entertainment through their hectic and abnormal lifestyle.

Every episode of "Jersey Shore" is the cast making up words, getting drunk and fighting.

Every episode of "Teen Mom" I find myself watching a teenage girl fight with her baby’s daddy and struggle to pay her bills, even though I’m sure MTV is paying them enough so that they don’t have to work for minimum wage.

5. "Pretty Little Liars"

This show seems to be very popular from what I've read on Facebook and Twitter. But when I try to watch it, I can’t help but get aggravated with the bad acting, cheesy portrayals of high school girls, unrealistic outcomes and bad decisions the show is wrapped up in.

The annoyingly good looks of everyone on the show makes it hard to take it seriously. Let me know if anyone’s teacher looks like Mr. Fitz and everyone from their high school looks like they’re in their 20s.

Fun fact: Troian Bellisario, who plays the character Spencer Hastings, is actually 26 years old.

4. Kim Kardashian

Yeah, she may be good looking, but does she really deserve all of the attention that she is getting from the media?

She has no talent, no personality and is not the best role model for younger girls. If anything, the only thing she has going for her is her family’s wild personalities and more importantly, Scott Disick. Without Scott and Khloe on her reality show, she wouldn’t be as popular as she is right now.

3. Panama City Beach

This hot spot for spring break over the last couple of years has always been a surprise to me. Everyone always complains and swears that they will “never go back” after a week of living in a disgusting two-bedroom condo that they squeezed 10 sorority girls into.

I would know – I slept in the kitchen of this lovely condo. It may be cheap, but after three years, maybe a new destination for spring break would be ideal.

2. Twilight Movies

I have to admit that the plot of this series was very creative and the books were actually quite addicting, despite the fact that I’m not much of a reader.

I mean, what high school girl wouldn’t want Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner fighting over her? However, Kristen Stewart’s awkward and confused personality ruined the movies.

It’s no surprise to me that the worst Harry Potter movie made $90 million more than the best Twilight film.

1. Taylor Swift

If you are a huge Taylor Swift fan that swears that she writes her songs based off your life,  I hope you don't take this personally.

Besides the fact that her voice is highly obnoxious and her songs sound exactly the same, her song lyrics sound like they were written by a boy-crazed 13-year-old. “Cause you were Romeo I was a Scarlet Letter” is the line that gets me every time. I’m not sure if referring to herself as a “scarlet letter” she was meaning that she is a woman cast out of society for being an adulterer and having a child out of wedlock is what she’s going for.

After beating out Beyoncé and Lady Gaga for Album of the Year at the 2010 Grammys, I’ve decided that she is definitely the number one most overrated artist of our generation.
