La, La, Love Songs!
With Valentine's Day fast approaching, I've had love songs playing over and over in my head. I dance, I sing, it's kind of embarrassing. Whether the recent or the timeless classics, there are a few tunes that (if not already) should definitely be added to your iTunes in honor of Valentine's Day if nothing else. "I Love You Like A Love Song"- Selena Gomez Alright, I know none of us watch Wizards of Waverly Place anymore, but if you need a little Selena in your life this is a pretty awesome song. Good dance vibes, and happy lyrics! What could be any better? "Wonderwall"- Oasis I know there are people who rolled their eyes when they read the last one so this one's for you! It's a timeless classic for those who don't like to listen to your mainstream love songs. Nothing better than cranking this one up, and thinking about your hunny! "I Don't Wanna Miss A Thing"- Aerosmith This is the ultimate love song. Though some of you might find it creepy that the writer of these lyrics could stay awake to watch their Valentine while they were sleeping (okay, I'll admit it is a little creepy), I can't help but love this one. I'm such a hopeless romantic, and this one just gets me every time. "Carrying Your Love With Me"- George Straight Oh of course we have to have one from the king! George Straight is a pro at writing awesome, sappy, love songs, and this is one of my favorites. "This I Promise You"- *NSYNC Every girl around our age at one point or another wished one of the guys from 'NSYNC thought of her when they sang this song. Who doesn't love a good flashback song, and what better one than this? Turn it up and sing it loud! "It Will Rain"- Bruno Mars I love this song! It also helps that it's on the Breaking Dawn Part 1 soundtrack. This one addresses everyone's fear of losing love, but with a great beat so as not to get too depressing. "Amazed"- Lonestar Every little thing that you do, baby I'm amazed by you! Who wouldn't love this one? Those are the perfect words to hear (take note guys). I love this country tune! "How To Love"- Lil Wayne Alright, so Lil Wayne is usually not the most romantic guy out there. Actually he's not at all. However, he did well on this one. The guy has a heart after all. Just don't watch the video, it'll ruin the romance for you! "Stereo Hearts"- Gym Class Heroes Unusual, but such a great love jam! This is one that you hear and it's stuck in your head for days. Plus, the nerd in me loves all the metaphors in it - hearts compared to stereos, people to records being played - this one's deep! "You Oughta Know"- Alanis Morissette I know what you're thinking, that's not a love song. You're right, it most definitely is not. This one is for those of you who (if you happened to keep reading this article) are disgusted with love songs. You hate Valentine's Day and plan on wearing black on the 14th and banning together against all things lovey dovey. I've been there, and you'll definitely appreciate this one. This is the ultimate anti-love song. Enjoy! So whether you're jamming to a country sap song or a new hip-hop one, there are love songs in every size, shape and color. February is the month to break out your tunes and sing along to the love lyrics. Let the hopeless romantic in you shine through - we won't judge.
