Feeling A Little Left OutI’m a new follower of the Barstool sports website and while I think they are way ahead of the game on funny videos from the internet, their introduction of the “Barstool Blackout Tour” has completely made me second guess how much I actually like the website.
What is Barstoolsports.com is a good question, but an even better question is what is the “Blackout Tour”. Barstool is a website that hosts the funniest sports, entertainment, and sometimes, just stupid videos that the Internet has to offer. It’s also the website guys rarely introduce to girls because they feel like it's their domain so that is maybe why a lot of girls have no idea that it exists.
Moving on to the “Blackout Tour” created in 2011. Barstool U, a branch from the original website decided that it would be a great idea to launch a tour where they show up with blacklights, lasers, strobes, fog and an awesome D.J on campuses around the United States and pretty much throw one huge rave.
There’s one problem that comes with this awesome idea. Our university never got the invitation to join the tour. Agreeing that Barstool has a direct connection to the north and the schools there, I still don’t understand why Alabama was not even in the running for consideration when the schedule for the tour was decided. However these places made the cut?
Iowa, Clemson, Vanderbilt, Philly, Virginia, Cincinnati, Michigan, Delaware
Granted they are all more northern than us but I doubt they are exclusive to only going there. Everyone that gets the opportunity to attend says it’s the craziest thing they’ve ever been to and an experience everyone should get.
I’d like to not take being excluded in the tour as personal, so I created reasons why Alabama might of not been included. We lack location. Other than the “boom boom” room at Rounders there isn’t a huge place where the event could easily accommodate so many people. Even the back of Gallettes wouldn’t be enough room for the people who wanted to go.
It looks like unless we blow up the email of the event, blackout@barstoolsports.com, the rave won't be visiting any town remotely close to us. Not only will Alabama never have a "Smokeshow of the Day" (girl chosen as best looking compared to all the other submitted pictures) because not enough students participate, it looks like we also will be left off the “blackout” tour as well. I encourage everyone to harass Barstool and make us the first in consideration for the South, if anyone deserves it - it is us. Plus it’d make an great youtube video for advertising.
