Staying Full
As the semester begins and a new flock of students amp up to start their first semester of USC, deciding what places to eat on or around campus can be difficult. After all, there are the delicious places that are also expensive, but also places that are cheaper but the lines are longer. Here’s a list of great places to eat around campus. Lemonade It’s a universal truth that everyone loves Lemonade. Maybe I made that up, but I have yet to find someone who doesn’t love this place. Located on the second level of the Campus Center, Lemonade is where you can find delicious soups, sandwiches, salads, cookies, and of course loads of different kinds of lemonade. The choices are extensive but also expensive. Be prepared to spend more than $10 for lunch at this hotspot and don’t expect for there to be a short line. Favorite Meal: Chicken Chili with Bread Freebirds While some may think that Chipotle is the best, I personally love Freebirds. Not only can you get a huge Monster burrito, but you get to choose what goes in it and the possibilities are endless. Cayenne, Flour, Wheat, Spinach – and that’s only the tortilla choices. The staff is always incredibly friendly, and they love to strike up conversations while fixing your masterpiece. The downside? The line can be long, but I say it’s worth it. Just remember to leave room in your stomach because Freebirds will definitely fill you up. Favorite Meal: Freebird Cayenne with Spanish Rice, Mixed Cheese, Steak, and Mixed Greens Viztango Café Fact: Viztango is delicious and cheap. They have a multitude of different food items even though they specialize in Italian food. Because the restaurant itself is a bit cramped, I suggest ordering online. They deliver in a lightening-speed time, and you can enjoy it in the comfort of your own dorm. Favorite Meal: Chicken Parmesan Trio House At Trio House, you’ll get lots of food for a small price. The Asian styled restaurant has great service and speedy delivery. It’s perfect for a casual meal with your friends, and it’s also open late. The food is packed with flavor, and you’ll never leave hungry! Favorite Meal: Pork Chop Noodle Jacks ‘n Joes Everyone’s favorite breakfast place is worth the hype. Delicious pancakes, yummy bacon and basically every other breakfast food imaginable, Jacks n’ Joes is only a stone’s throw away from the Row and perfect for morning after feasts. The only downside is the fact that some days – especially Sundays – you can be waiting for an hour. Favorite Meal: Pancakes with Bacon and Homefries
