Jersey Babayyy: Week One

Caroline Veazie
Gamma Chi

Holy crap what a week! I have finished week one of my Johnson & Johnson supply chain co-op; it's been great so far! Every day I have been doing things that are new, exciting and completely different than anything I've ever done before. Here's a day-by-day play-by-play.

Monday: This day consisted of taking my mom to the airport and running errands around New Jersey... Not. Exciting.

Tuesday: Orientation day! For my orientation, I had to be at the more "main" campus, which is about an hour away from where I live. "Campus" is used in the business world to describe the businesses' site or grounds, basically the place that you work. Anyway, the most exciting part of this day was that I got to meet the people I'll be doing my co-op with. I also got to meet the girl who had my co-op before me, India, to begin my training. Let me tell you, it's SO much newness it makes my head spin! She assured me that I'll eventually be able to do everything with my hands tied behind my back.

Wednesday: For this day, I was at JnJ's campus in Morris Plains, NJ, where I'll be most of the week except for Thursdays. This was exciting for me because in this building I have my own office!!!!!!!!!! Well... it's a cubicle... but it's exciting. I got trained a lot more this day and met the employees on my "team" who I'll be running reports on the computer for every day.

Thursday: Thursday is travel day. I have to go to Skillman, the place I went for orientation, every Thursday... aka, these are the days I'll have to wake up E-A-R-L-Y and thus I will NOT be a happy Caroline. At the Skillman campus, India and I had to sit at a random table because she doesn't have a technical "desk" there... that was a bit awkward.

Friday: This day was scary because India basically made me do everything myself! Which was great because she was around to help me out if I needed her, but it also scared me because starting Monday, Jan. 9, I will be completely alone!

Cross your fingers everyone that I'll do great during my first week of real work!
