Cold's Coming

Looking forward to the changing of leaves and the arrival of fall feels like yesterday. All of a sudden a month flew by, and the leaves are now piled up beneath the trees leaving a naked look to campus. In a matter of days, the beauty on campus has done a complete 360 turn-around. The cold weather has remained consistent and is no longer the result of a random three-day cold front.

With this comes a change in everyday attire and the search for cute clothes that also keep you warm, which often times can be a very difficult task. Summer clothes are making their way into boxes and the winter clothes are being brought out. The weather can definitely have a large effect on a girl’s decision on what to wear before going out at night. The decision is very tough especially when you don’t want to carry around a big jacket all night while you are trekking around campus to get from frat to frat. That is when we have to decide whether or not to freeze to death while outside or to worry about keeping up with the jacket. Winter can be such a hindrance on how much fun we can have just because the weather is so dreadful.

Girls have to sacrifice a lot during the colder months. The frat houses and any other places are always very hot and swamped with people, so when you get there a jacket is that last thing you want to put on. As soon as you leave, though, it is a necessity. So what can we wear out that’s cute and warm? Most guys are thankful that the famous Ugg boots have been formally replaced by leather boots in our wardrobe. Although Uggs keep us warm from class to class, they are not as popular any more to complete a chic outfit suitable for going out. But no girl wants to walk in a frat house with a cute outfit on with a bulky North Face over top. The smartest idea would be to find a moderately warm jacket or sweater that somewhat matches your outfit.

Regardless, winter is so much more difficult than any other time of year. It makes for very stressful nights. Besides the fact that you have to worry about carrying the jacket around, the chances of losing it are very high. Especially if it is a nice jacket; that would be the worst to lose. The sad part is that we haven’t even experienced the coldest yet this year.
