Mike's Corner

"Some things are better left unsaid."  Wise words my grandfather always said.  Words we know are true, yet fail to listen to.  Think of how many times you haven't let something go, how many times you had to have the last word.  Now out of those occasions, how many times were we truly satisfied with that last statement?

Personally, I usually regret it.  Words, once left the mouth, are never taken back.  They can be forgiven, but will never be forgotten.  A foolish man speaks while a wise man listens.  Let's face it; we tend to tune people out when they talk a lot.  They may eventually have something bright or important to say, but by then, we really aren't paying much attention to them.

The quiet people are different.  We tend to listen to every single word they say because they seldom talk.  God gave us two ears and one mouth for a reason.  If we listened twice as much as we talked, we would learn a lot more and when it came time to talk, we would be more educated.  Make your words count and think before you speak.  Don't be a fool and regret something you wish you hadn't said.  Be a wise man and listen to what other people have to say.  If we truly listen to the meaning behind what people say we could gain so much more insight and pick up on things that aren't explicitly stated.
