Lights, Camera, RENT THE RUNWAY!

It is hard to believe the school year is almost halfway over. Each fraternity and sorority has been celebrating with date functions and formals.  Unfortunately, some of us are running out of dresses and appropriate wardrobe options for these events.

Don’t worry! Rent the Runway is here to save the lives of sorority girls everywhere! For those of you who are not familiar, Rent the Runway is an online company established by two young women to help additional women look fabulous for those important “special occasions.”  It allows women to have designer fashions delivered to her doorstep for 10-15 percent off the retail price. The process includes a four-day or eight-day designer dress and accessory rentals starting at $40 for dresses and $10 for accessories. It’s an easy-to-navigate website that includes more than 150 top designers with 25,000 dresses and over 4,000 accessories. After your formal or date function, you simply mail the dress back to the company with extra cash in your pocket!  For a college student, this is a stylish and affordable way for young girls to attend social events looking her best… FOR LESS!

In November, a RTR trunk show was hosted at the Sigma Delta Tau Sorority house. Panhellenic women from all sororities came to the trunk show to try on dresses and learn more about the Rent the Runway process. The ladies of Sigma Delta Tau won the sorority contest and received a promo code to use at their purchase. Nicole Alevizos, of Kappa Delta sorority, serves as the RTR Public Relations official for our campus.  She is one of a team of girls working very hard this year to promote this company to the women on our campus. To learn more about Rent the Runway or to rent something yourself, visit the website at www.renttherunway.com or find FSU’s personal RTR page on Facebook.
