Achieving Hollywood Glamour On A Not So Hollywood Budget
My favorite part about watching the Oscars and Grammys? Not the actual awards ceremony of course; it’s all about watching the stars strutting their stuff on the red carpet! What sets this night apart from any other night in Hollywood is the fact that each star carries themselves with the upmost glamour when facing the countless flashing cameras and fashion critics from E! Hollywood and People Magazine. Unfortunately as college students, it may be hard to achieve the same Hollywood-esque look when a personal designer and makeup artists are clearly not in our budget. Fortunately for you, achieving a million dollar smile and flawless sun kissed glow isn’t as hard and expensive as you think. One trip to Wal-Mart is all you need to compete with the stars in L.A. and have the fraternity gentlemen turning heads at Purdue. Show off your pearly whites by giving yourself a luminous “Katherine Heigl” smile. Two items I would unquestionably add to the shopping list for your next Wal-Mart run are Crest White Strips and Arm and Hammer Extra Whitening toothpaste. From my personal experience, I’ve had great long-term success from the Crest White Strips and have received many compliments on my smile after using the product. For day to day whitening, nothing compares to the Arm and Hammer Extra Whitening toothpaste for maintaining the brightness and whiteness of your teeth. These two items will undoubtedly make for a better profile picture! Treat yourself to a healthy “Carrie Underwood” glow without taking time out of your busy day to race over to the tanning salon. L'Oreal Paris’s Sublime Bronzer is a quick and easy self-tanner which dries only after a few minutes and rinses off immediately in the shower. With the purchase price of only $10 a bottle, this item is well worth your money since the tan looks very healthy and natural. This product serves as a pretty promising substitute for not living next to the beach. Lastly, make your eyes pop with some lengthy lashes just like Drew Barrymore’s in the Cover Girl commercials. Although mascara helps brighten and define the eye, nothing can compare to the volume achieved when using fake eyelashes. Although I don’t suggest using fake eyelashes every day, they are definitely perfect to use for special occasions such as formals and date functions. You can easily amp up the volume with Revlon’s line of Fantasy Lengths and Beyond Natural false lashes. I’ve used this line countless times in the past and swear by wearing them for every formal occasion. Now flirt it up and bat those lashes! A million dollar smile, flawless skin and lengthy lashes… watch out Hollywood and fraternity gentlemen, Purdue’s sorority girls will be turning up the heat. Next time a Wal-Mart trip arises, treat yourself to these beauty must-haves in order to look glamorous with your date at formal!
